This performace shook me to the core. I will never forget the first time I heard it. So powerfull, so amazing. To me Hua Hua is one of the greatest musicians/performers/artists ever, in the same league with Freddie Mercury and David Bowie. I'm 40, European, I have never listened to any asian artist in my whole life and now Hua Hua has stolen my heart completely :)

This is not an exaggeration, Hua Hua has taken music to another realm. When he is singing, your sight is hard to leave him. He can draw you in easily.The whole package is amazing including his beautiful voice, emotion, singing skills, playing piano, music arrangement, facial expression, stage performance, all are so perfect. He is such a music genius. He has so many styles that you haven't seen. He can sing rock, rap, pop music, classical music, ballad, opera etc. Playing instrument is his strength. His voice is like water blending into music with different tones. The most important thing is that he is a great composer too. He composed so many great songs in his album. He is the pioneer of creation. Like a treasure waiting for you to discover.

"Fake monk" is my fav. song of Hua. I cried too when I listened to him for the first time (with this song). Fan Dimash, fan Hua! Wow, you went straight to the jugular on this one. Hua is incredible. If you can, find videos with lyrics. You may get even more out of his performances. He writes his own songs. but even when he covers songs, the words are amazing. Also, he can switch personas in his music - one song he's a rock god, another a guttural rapper, another a hero, a madman, a child, an angel. As you can see, he can be incredibly dramatic, but he's also humble and sweet and funny as a human. I (and others here) can literally give you dozens of links of varied and awesome works. This guy is no slouch. He's incredibly huge in China and abroad, selling out stadiums in minutes. The more you watch of him, the more you will be astounded (much like Dimash, his talent and skill knows no bounds - and his creativity is un-matched).

Hua ChenYu is now the Top performer in China. His concert tickets 90,000 pieces fr one night sold out in less than 2 mins. That's crazy U can find his song with English Sub easily. "hua ChenYu English Sub" has lots of clips. Serious reactors will get Sub for their supporters to understand the reaction (song) better. Every song he send a message. Thank you for your reaction to Huahua, (Hua means Flower). He said in an interview before his performance that this is the "Final Struggle" he released so much pain and longing the love of his parents. He grew up with his own, his parents got divorced when he was only 2 years old and he got depressed since then. For him, Only Music accompanied him to grew up stronger and go forward. Woah it's a long story and it's hard for me to tell you his life, (not fluent in english). But his a musical genius, great composer, artist and his also a kind hearted man, thoughful, soft spoken, childish heart, loves animals and children, and the most important he really loves ice cream and meat, he loves to eat 😂

I would not have recommended this as the first video to see from Hua Chen Yu. This was ART and a performance, rather than showing his singing ability. You are right to feel the loneliness, despair, creepiness, and pain; comments below tell you of his sad childhood. Hearing this song could easily repel people from listening to his music because they may not understand it (eg, you would not hear this song on the radio!). However, I am glad that you reacted positively to this song, despite having the negative feelings that this song can make you feel. I suggest to react to "Ordinary Path", "Childhood and "Nunchucks" (I highly recommend this one!) These songs show a glimpse of his creative genius and singing ability much better. He has no boundaries on any specific genre of music- rock, rap, classical, etc. "Fake Monk" is a manifestation of his creativity. You have discovered Dimash, So Hyang, Hua Chen Yu, etc. who are great artists/singers. I suggest that you react also to Morissette Amon ("Rise Up", "Secret Love Song" and "Never Enough") who (I hope) will be a rising superstar in the coming years.

you my dear sweet girl are exactly right this was emotional song you never saw the words but your intuition was spot on this song was about his childhood being left alone by his father at the age of 2 and his mother was out of the picture and he would be left alone in the mansion as his father was rich but never there for him .. so Hua Hua (little Flower.... in Mandarin) just retreated inside himself and almost stopped talking using speech he even slept with a weapon under his pillow so he wouldnt be so scared but this song showed how he broke out of his emotional craziness making and forced himself to take back himself very very very powerful.. I so love the fact that you picked up on the specific emotion you are the first reactor that ' hit the nail on the head " so to speak ... I will be back and thank you for this

I normally do not comment often but this performance for me at least is very personal. The whole structure reminds me of what it feels like to be depressed. The monotone grey like tones of everyday, the laughter at oneself when the absurdity of the situation worms itself to the surface and mixes with utter helplessness. Putting up face for others, the rage when the sadness, melancholy, greyness and complete and utter passivity boils over only to subside into the monotone fog of colorless days once more. I do know the lyrics and the background story of this song are about loneliness but for me this is how I would feel like if I could sing my heart out.
