I like this style of vlog. Reminds me of your early content with the walk n' talk and more personal element to it and what it means to you. Good stuff!

That tree looks like a wind blown Poinciana, they are spectacular when in flower. Great video Darren.

I have to say i am impressed with Hua Hin, it really does look a beautiful area. Some of that street art is very well done. I don't think I have seen you with a hat very often but on days like this maybe a wide brim or at least a cap would be good. The beaches and sea are indeed very clean and the mountains behind make for a lovely backdrop. Those trees with the red blossoms could possibly be Oleander, also found in Malaysia. As already said by another, these walky talky video's you do are really enjoyable.

I really enjoyed my two weeks there early last year, had breakfast in Father Ted's a few times. If/when I get to return to Thailand I'll be visiting Hua Hin again for sure.

Hey Darren is your audio for when you are not in the frame recorded post production and added?
@remotedarren Жыл бұрын
No, it’s recorded in shot, no post production audio added. I just do a very basic edit before uploading.

Hello from California Darren! I learned about your channel through Kevin (30 and a wake up) and I was hoping to get your advice. I really admire your story and how you left it all behind to seek out a more fulfilling life and developing new skills while doing so. So I'm a US citizen, single with no kids, nearly 40 just going from one job to the next and haven't found my niche. Inflation here is getting out of control and I've been thinking, if I'm going to live on the bare minimum here why not do that in Southeast Asia instead and enjoy the quality of life? My plan would be to teach English initially just for long term visa purposes but then develop a skill set that I can ideally do remotely and have enough income to stop teaching after a year or two. I don't have experience in tech so I'd have to learn the fundamentals before starting anything. I realize Thailand is strict about foreigners working and staying long term so I'm trying to make sure it's a feasible plan. I know teaching doesn't pay much especially outside of the international schools so I can't depend on that long term. I actually visited Thailand back in 2006 for about 6 months so I have familiarity with the culture. I'm not into partying and I don't drink either. My idea of fun is exploring the cities and markets and meeting people. I figure if it doesn't work out in Thailand, I hear Cambodia has less road blocks when it comes to opportunities. However, I'd like to find a new life out there and not have to return to the only life I've known here which has become mundane. I keep telling myself the only thing that would hold me back here is if I found a solid career with benefits but when I heard your story I realized that might not bring fulfillment either. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thank you for all the content 👍 Cheers

Hello, thank you for the comment! It's hard to have a conversation in KZbin comments, so, drop me an email to darren at theremotehive dot com and I can offer some advice. I have never done English teaching so I am unable to advise around that but might be able to offer some other suggestions on areas you could focus on for remote work so you can work and travel.

Hua Hin is much nicer. Beaches are so much cleaner than Batu Feringghi.
