There are restrictions for both Muslim and non-Muslim, such as the government prohibits celebration for Chinese new year or Christmas in the public. Muslim is prohibited to join in on non-muslim festivities. During Ramadan, all restaurants are prohibited to open for eat-in customers. Brunei's residents travel by car to Malaysia's border town "Miri" for a day trip often, as the currency exchange rate at MR$1 to BD$0.33.
