Hello, there is a small hole on the backplate on the left side of the watch. That is where the microphone is located, when you connect it with your phone via bluetooth you should allow it to use phone calls on your phone(check Huawei Watch app permissions on your phone). There can be some software problems with it, try checking/turning off "Silent mode" or restarting/factory reseting your watch. If that doesn`t help than there is something wrong with hardware in it.

What about water resistance after replacement?

It is hard to guarantee factory water proofness after opened, even though we return rubber ring and seal everything. We don`t recommend swimming after opening, especially in salty water.
