Really excited for the unboxing. Mate XT is my dream phone! I have been using a Mate XS Outward Foldable with no case for 9 months and it fell a couple of times and it is doing great. This is because the plastic screen is very shatter resistant. I dropped a glass screen phone before and the screen broke. The key to the longevity of a foldable phone is keeping it open the majority of the time and only folding it occasionally. God Bless Us!

I have a 4yr old Mate XS, I tried to explain to people the screen is better being soft plastic too. Got it July 2020 and was my daily until I got the Honor V3

Let the floodgates open! Cannot wait till the Vivo or Xiaomi versions. Would have been great to see the "3" screens be the 7.2" screens like the old Mate 20X.

Don't forget Huawei and Honor already made successful outward folding phones so the outward hinge is not new territory for them, I expect to see an Honor version but the others might not be so quick.

Well done. Next time less you on the videos. Do to Flossy. You never see him on the videos and make 40 to 120 minutes of vlog video. Show us more comparisons. Thats why you get more subscribers.

The screen will probably not last one whole year, buying this is basically the same as paying to become a beta tester.

Hinges are a little wonky. Like Vivo... the hinges kind of 'stick' when trying to get it started/open... The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a bit smoother. But not a deal breaker...

IT'S A BIFOLD!! How many times does the screen fold? Twice, not 3 times. You have all lost the ability to count to 3 including Huawei.

The thing has been proven to be a piece of garbage already and not worth the hype... there are too many videos out already were people have had it for just a few hours and the screen is already damaged... didn't even make it past the welcome screen, and the software has been shown to be garbage ... at $2,800 cost and $1,400 for screen repair I'll stick to my V2 and wait till the V4 comes out 🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I watched some videos about Huawei foldable phones. They were saying that there foldable phones are made cheaply and tend to break, the customer service is terrible, they have been getting alot of complaints because they usually blame the phones breaking due to user error and tells there customers to pay for there own repairs of there foldable phones.

This is why Huawei is my favorite company in the world. People forget tgwt they have been at the top of inovation for a long time. They invented dark mode on smartphones, had the first smartphone with a periscope camera (or second acording to some people by an unknown brand) at launched their first foldable a week or two apart from the first samsung fold. Without the sanctions they would be number one in smartphones for 3 or 4 years now (they did for one quarter before the sanctions took full effect). And through all these dificulties they still lead innovation not only in smartphones but also in 5g, electric cars software, smart tvs, etc.

No. Of course not. Word from China: the Mate XT is fragile / under-engineered / a disposable gizmo. The screen is damagrd very easily. Most of the initial run was purchased by scalpers who are now stuck with units to sell.

@@PaulKunkel-n9g Interesting. I would not buy such an expensive phone anyway just bought a Samsung Galaxy S21 with a loose back cover for 80$ rapaired it for 6$ with a new seal and it is great and practical. If foldables become so cheap and relaiable I might switch again 😄

No sound on your video. And multiple videos from China show the Mate XT display failing immediately. Besides, Huaweii processors are nowhere near best in class. It's garbage. But not as enbarassing as your innept product promotion video.
