Boot shorting. I don't know what that is. Did you just connect any to cables to the mifi or are the cables from a usb cord ?

any idea how why dc unlocker is failing to detect my modem, thus unable to edit imei or anything else? drivers are installed and am able to see the device in device manager

Keep pressing the search button eventually it will be able to detect,,,make sure when you connect the cable the webGUI automatically pops up,then close it,then run DC

Yes remove the battery,,and no,only attach the wire when connecting to the PC after detection you can put aside the wire

Yes and no,,the process should be the same as the model in the video,you only use DC Unlocker when repairing the IMEI
