TBH I think the only advantage of this phone is the Leica certificated cameras... S8 is way more powerful, most reviewers ignored the latest snapdragon 835 which had already demonstrated gigabytes download speed.

dat boi it doesn't though? the only thing that looks slightly similar is the front which is the same on loads of phones (even before the oneplus 3). The OP3 is one of the most generic looking phones out there. If anything the P10 it takes a lot of inspiration from the iPhone

Great review! Only issue is when you addressed the camera - you talked about the portrait mode but didn't look at the wide aperture mode next to it. The wide aperture mode just creates artificial bokeh and allows you to refocus after, and works well on static objects. the portrait mode is different - it uses facial recognition to make sure the face is in focus, and applies a slight beauty filter as well as vignette and other "stylistic effects" kind of like a filter. Some of the issues you mentioned with regards the portrait mode would be better in the wide aperture mode, which gives more natural images.

I like black color because it's design is same like Iphone, same round edges. Love blue color too but I m not sure I feel like it's edges r not round I felt like there is a line on the edge which separate diamond cut from the almonium which doesn't match with that black color p10 that is totally like Iphone round edges. Can some one tell me if I m not wrong.. Help because I love blue color but that thing is confusing me not to buy blue

Love your reviews! Would be awesome if you could get more scientific with the analysis' of the displays of the phones you're reviewing. For those who don't know, blown out colors isn't really a good thing on an Android phone right now if you're looking for color accuracy. Apple actually color manages everything in iOS, so if you publish a photo on Instagram and view it on another iPhone or sRGB factory calibrated Android phone, they will look the same. Or if you show your photos on another display, like your PC or TV, they're gonna look the same and not like 80% less saturated. Android color manages nothing as far as I know, so everything is just expected to be adapted to sRGB. So blown out colors is really just a result of poor calibration. You probably know all this, but I think it's good for everyone to know about this issue :)

portrait mode is for people, for objects and so there is wide aperture mode :)

5 hours of screen on time? I had one, got barely over 3 hours... Plus, the autofocus was slow as hell. Either than that, it was a great phone. If they fix the camera and battery life they will have a winner.

Lisa: a lot of phone reviews focus on specs. i look to buy a phone hoping it will last 2 years. is there any rating for longevity? my OnePlus One's screen is constantly turning off (overheating?). I have had it for a year and a half and take good care of my phone, so i find this a bit disappointing.

excellent review. I have the Mate 9 and I have grown to really love this phone. you made a small mistake. you have LATE on sim2. you choose which Sim for data in settings. it is great when you travel. i have my home Sim and when i am away get a local data Sim and install in Sim tray two (lose microsd). you have voice over both Sims and it has dual apps for people that have two numbers. dual Facebook and WhatsApp it is fantastic.

I totally fell out over the mate 9...I think the camera is better in its depth of use producing some of the best images I've ever caught on a smartphone. I always felt my note 5 carried that but still as far as just point and shoot the note 5 still tip top. S7 and s8 I guess will be there or better since everyone has become low light only photographers. lmao

Indeed ! I get the review stand point. But hell I won't shoot at night if I can help it. Unless it is fireworks or etc. Then you'll get better pics anyway the consumers have pushed samsung to down size to 12mp over this resulting in barely better low light but not quite as sharp yet faster focus times. I'M happy with mate 9 and note 5 ..hell even the Axon 7 I'm playing with is great. Price makes a big difference. Not low light. Lol

Philip p10 comes with a screen protector that has grease proof coating. unless you remove the protector, otherwise it will not get greasy.

The 2nd sim does not have 4G LTE capability. But, can it connect to 3G network for voice calls? or it just connects to GSM (2G) by default. We don't have 2G network anymore in Australia.

Frank the Bunny and Hearth and Soul: since Jan. 1, 2017 all our videos are 4K. Previously, they were 1080p for years. You just have to wait for KZbin to process all the higher resolutions- takes them an hour or two to get all the way up to 4K.

It actually pacts great functionality. You can use it to replace the navigation strip (back, home, recent) and it has the finger print sensor. I just got this phone and I like it better than all the Samsungs I got before.

I so want the P10 Plus. They made it dualSIM too... but... they drop that feature from the EU model, what the hell Huawei? Now I have to import one somehow. Ooh, the Plus version has a slightly better lens. It's also higher res (display), waterproof and features an IR blaster!
