Just a quick point, saying a 6 month old SOC is old, or at least implying it, is wrong, no one would buy the Note if you followed that thought, as the S10+ is likely to be $300-400 off by the time the Note 10 comes out, both having the same SOC! I would agree that the Mate 20 would be a good choice, but the P30P is really a camera phone and if that is your thing the P30P would be your choice, especially if you pre-ordered as they gave a free £200 Sonos away, so cheaper than the Mate 20! Cheers.

Yay. From 3 weeks back I could finally say watching on my p30 (non pro). Got it on offer on the last day of black Friday for 280 quid. Was originally going to get the realme x2 Pro but found this for 100 cheaper. Apparently in different regions you do get a case but sadly not in the uk

A great unbox and short first impressions! I understand that you can't use the stock camera app with an external mic? Can you test that out, because there are times that externals mics via a headset or lapel mic offer superior audio quality.

Nice phone. For me I use mine primarily for media consumption. So there's nothing here to make me regret getting the Mate 20 X. with it's 7.2" screen and big stereo speakers and dolby atmosphere.

I recently tested S10+ and S10e at the store, so they both were lagging.... Takes a second to unlock from screensaver, or even more in some cases, actually there were some freezes while unlocking. Phone app and dial screen also takes a second or more to open, also freezing a little bit. It's not as fast as OnePlus or iPhone yet. OneUI is still garbage. imo.

Yes the p30 pro is slightly better curved imo. I feels better in the hands when you hold it. Also you get less accidentally touches on the edge than with the s10+. Thats my experience atleast.

I returned mine today, had issues with the camera on mine worst being when clicking the 5x telephoto the image would keep snapping too one of the other cameras...which do not have 5x optical so the picture was 5x digital and it was horrid, but then it would keep snapping back to the correct telephoto lens and be clear again...and back again and so on, sometimes it would start off going to the other camera then jump back to the proper one, this happening in day time and night time. Another was recording video for 5 seconds it records fine but then there is a massive delay with what I see on the screen to my movements with the phone, it was really bad I would turn from left to right and be stopped and the phone/screen image would still be half way turning lol this happened in what ever recording mode I put it in happened with all movements really making it impossible to know if you are filming right or to get a smooth shot, and also triggered my bad motion sickness looking at the screen at what I am recording. someone else on twitter had the same issue I had with the 5x telephoto camera but not the video recording

Camare has better zoom and night mode and the phone has a better battery. Other than that there's nothing else that's better than the S10. The S10 video, HDR, SlowMo, General quality and wide angle are better. The screen is way nicer and software is better. Also 3.5ml Jack if you're still bothered about that.

I have a p30 pro... I got to say I am a bit underwhelmed with the screen....the screen isn't sharp and the colours look washed out. I have moved from the one plus 3t, and find myself preferring the screen on the 3t over the p30 pro......i feel like I am the only person in the world complaining about it as I can't see anyone else complaining... I dunno if I got a defect model or not

I have had the p20 pro for over 12months and I'm still having over 75% battery at the end of the day. So if given the chance I would pick Huawei over Samsung and I'm waiting for the P30 Pro in November

@@klynch572 nope front camera also better it also has better processor than the exynos version not that slippery as the s10 the notch is better doesnt get hot as the s10 it has 40watt fast charge. it has ir blaster. if you get with simcard it is also 200 euro cheaper you get 300 euro gift if you pre order s10 its only 150 it is better in so much aspects. fingerprintscanner is also faster and power button is not to high like on the samsung

Hmm if you are going to match the price of the current top android phone in the s10+ you'd better nail every aspect of it. They missed. The lower res screen is a real odd choice. fast charging is a winner. looks subjective, I personally feels the s10 looks more classy. camera looks interesting.

That phone was the perfect size for me and I still like that front facing physical fingerprint scanner, but even though it's not that old it does feel slightly sluggish now compared to the mate

It only makes sense that the mate series brings on the new chipset as it is focused on performance.
