Huawei P30 Pro vs P30 | Side-by-side comparison

Huawei just launched its new P30 Pro and standard P30 smartphones, fresh new flagships for 2019. But what's the difference between these two mobiles and which is best for you - we've been hands-on with the new devices and here's how they stack up for specs, camera tech, speed, battery performance and beyond.
The P30 Pro is the more premium of these two blowers, although they both sport Huawei's Kirin 980 chipset and run EMUI 9.1 on top of Android Pie. For one, you get upgraded camera hardware on the Pro model - the Super Spectrum primary lens rocks a wider f/1.6 aperture, you get a 20MP ultra wide angle snapper (compared with the standard P30's 16MP), and the telephoto zoom has been boosted to 5x over 3x.
On top of that, the P30 Pro serves up a bigger 4200mAh battery compared with the 3650mAh standard model. And only the more premium Huawei smartphone boasts wireless and reverse wireless charging - as well as 40W Super Charge.

battery 3600 is good for a small screen , it might even have better life than pro , the camera is same the only diff is the ZOOM which is USELESS in my opinion , who would zoom 50x ??? for me 5x zoom is enough beyond that it aint clear

Not the only one. I am only interested in the pro for the 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid is quite good as well. Otherwise hate most things about it edit: the regular model is much more symmetrical and good looking.

to be honest you are totally right. the thing about the p series has always been like , get the more expensive version the other one is not even flagship worthy but shares the flagship-like price. it has worse camera quality output always has no water resistance even tho it has the price of a phone that SHOULD HAVE THAT. the pro is fantastic but the non pro version is just not a good buy for anyone. so your choice of getting the s10e is definitely justified , i myself own the s10+ but all the s10s are great phones even if the camera isnt as great as the huawei.

I like the size and the headphone jack of the standard p30. However I might miss the OIS. Holding out til the indepth camera reviews come out for the non pro. If OIS really affects performance I may look at the S10e. I want a smaller phone, with a good camera, headphone jack and no curved screen! Curved screens are the devil!

I only had Samsungs until I bought Mate 20 Pro last year. Gouorgeous, fantastic piece of engineering. BUT, SOFTWARE .... 2 years behind Apple and Samsung. I just switched back to S10+ and I feel I just came back HOME from a log, interesting journey. Software Samsung KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT AND WHAT I KNEED S10+ vs Mate 20 Pro : Way Way better = video, speakers, headphone jack, oneui, autorotate sensor ( way more responsive and intuitive) , aod ( way better implementation and options ) , panorama photos, image ( nobody asked my about my Mate 20 pro but almost everybody ask me about my s10 ) just better = daylight photos, ultrawide photos, weight - lighter, resale value, display in sunlight, heart rate sensor, darkmode, photo sugestion mode - just addictive, in display fingerprint sensor - way faster but no wet finger as they pretend , Mate 20 Pro vs S10+ : Way Way better = battery ( battery life, ultrafast charging both wired and wireless. This I MISS THE MOST . They say comparable battery life but, Mate 20 Pro has way way better battery life NO MATTER what video comparison pretend. That was my experience as I have them both), night mode photos, zoom photos, ergonomics of buttons, SIGNAL - way way better signal call reception, wi fi, LTE, bluetooth - it just flies. Speed - born fast stay fast - as I am a heavy heavy user, after 5 months of intensive usage, my Mate 20 Pro works as fast as new. That has never happend to me with no Samsung before Just better = IR blaster, sharper photos, cheaper, more natural photos. I chose S10+ for : Speakers, ONEUI, ultrawide and panorama photos , video recording I miss the most battery ( life and charging time ) This apply somehow to P30 Pro as it has a superior zoom camera and night mode. But software, speakers etc - still Huawei I feel like Huawei = a Ferrari with a regular driver and Samsung = Golf GTI with a real Pilot Huawei = fabulous hardware, poor implementation Samsung = just great hardware but excellent implementation to take the most out of it That is my experience. Either way both are TOP NOTCH - way way over Lg, Xiaomi, One+ etc etc

samsung joke I have ever changed into S8plus in 2017 but really shitty SoCs always restart . What ever OS it has the phone is trash . After 6months it feels like a 6 years phone . That white color is gorgeous. A lot of weird compromises on these phones though. No dual speakers, only 1080p screens. Never used a Huawei device but they definitely seem to be getting more interesting.

The stupid company did not put OIS on the P30. The main camera, the one that you are going to film and take pic from doesnt have optical image stabilisation. That is insane. The more expensive model the p30 plus has ois but its way to expensive for most so whats the point. If only it had OIS i could ignore the other faults but this is insane, I am not giving 1050euro for a smartphone.

Well for me P30 will best suit me specially on my budget, the pro version is more of a luxury item if you really have extra money for it which is great you'll really get a plus in specs but p30 is good enough with the camera set up for such price for a mid range phone .

I was leaning towards the P30 Pro till I watched a couple videos only to find out it doesn't have a Headphone jack which is really important to me when listening to music in the car or watching videos on KZbin both phones have missing options without a Headphone jack a phone is useless to me and without a High quality camera it's garbage as I take pictures of my car all the time for Instagram

4K + stabilization + fast shoot video = drop frames. Sorry, P30 PRO is not professional video. Only 30 fps in 4K - bad. Bitrate in 4K - ????. And a whole lot of false stories are everything in the subject. Iphone XS max bitrate 4K 100 MB / s, Samsung S10 max 42 MB / s. It says everything about the quality of the new P 30 PRO.

Yeah, that would be nice. To be honest, I had been considering Mate 20 and then yesterday... P30 came, haha. I haven't seen the phone yet in real life but from specs and reviews I think I will go for P30 over Mate 20 because: P30 has OLED screen, is smaller, has way better cameras, improved software, headphone jack at the bottom.
