This deal led Japan into a crisis economic era called 'Japan's Economic Bubble'. Even though the crisis period were just around 1 decade, but the loss is still felt until today... Japan's economy has been stagnant since 90's until now. The country's heyday were lost since long ago and there's no any significant development in the economy and its people social welfare. That's why living cost in Japan is terribly high and some people even can't meet their ends. The suicide numbers also still high due to stressful way of life. Thanks to US that made Japan like this. Japan is hardly anti China. Japan has more friction with South Korea than it does with China, leading to a trade war between them which China had to help mediate over to ensure RCEP is passed without issue. in the end China and Japan interest coincident, both want Asia to be a prosperous stable region. it is only the western media only report on things they like and hide things they don't like... so we never see the full picture.

Its called Toshiba Kongsberg scandal. Toshiba was blamed to been selling components to the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War, As a result of this the US used its security ties to pressure Japan into punishing Toshiba which involved fining the company; jailing its executives; and most notably forcing the company to "share" its technology unconditionally with its American competitors." Basically stealing Toshiba's technology. Also "Japan's successful catch-up in the semiconductor field brought great competitive pressure to the US semiconductor industry. Against this backdrop, the US started to play unfairly. In 1985, the US initiated a Section 301 case over alleged dumping of Japanese electronic products; meanwhile, the Plaza Accord resulted in a significant appreciation of the yen. It was under pressure from the US as the two countries signed the US-Japanese Semiconductor Agreement in 1986, placing restrictions on Japanese DRAM producers."

What happened to Jack Ma (co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba) is the perfect example of that (he didn't even go against CCP, he was merely criticized China’s regulators and banks). Same goes for Huawei...it is not about them as a company itself wants to do anything evil, but more to do with the fact that if the CCP wish utilise the use of their network infrastructure in other countries to carry spying activities and cyber-attacks, they have absolutely no say in the matter and absolutely powerless to stop them. To understand the agenda of the US Govt and why they had chosen to dehumanise Asians/Chinese in such a matter, you will need to have an understanding of American history. It is the same for Canada/Australia/the UK/France and to a lesser extent, the EU. Here is a hint at the prevailing train of thought within their inner circles of power. Kiron Skinner, director of policy planning at the State Department and a Harvard-educated historian, was speaking at an event with the think tank New America on Monday when she offered her thoughts on why the dispute with China was different from the Cold War, which had seen the United States push back against the Soviet Union. “This is a fight with a really different civilization and a different ideology, and the United States hasn’t had that before,” Skinner said. Later, Skinner, who is African American, invoked ethnicity as another difference between the current Cold War and the one against the Soviet Union. “It’s also striking that this is the first time that we will have a great power competitor that is not Caucasian,” she said. The previous Cold War with the USSR was a 'familial struggle'.

Europe and the United States are both democratic and rule-of-law countries. Therefore, to use state machinery to sanction a private enterprise Huawei whether it is a state-owned enterprise or not, there must be sufficient reasons. The reason is in the US Department of Justice indictment that clearly mentioned , Huawei has internal incentives to encourage employees to steal technology from other organizations, and it also clearly mentions what technology Huawei has stolen. www.justice.gov/opa/press-release/file/1248961/download

One thing that Western media don't want you to know is that Huawei is owned entirely by its current of past employees. Now how much does CEO get paid in the US? Let that sink in for a moment.

Honestly, l don’t care who owns HUAWEI, it’s China intern, and all the lies. I am absolutely sick of all the bad propaganda about China, their products, their organ harvesting for the West, ...etc. if not all Western countries do it, kill protesters, traffic drugs, children women...and lie to their citizens. I am a Westerner, but our ways to get what we want, sickens me to the core. The phone is great, the price is great, to use it is great, but it is not available anymore thanks to the dictatorship of the US, and no country stands up, as in times of their beastly Vietnam war.

What an interesting programme! My favourite is the last part showcasing the next generation of Chinese super hi-tech talent in REAL life. A soft-spoken kid with amazing abilities, very self-assured though outwardly self-effacing. Such a striking juxtaposition with the Huawei director at the beginning of the programme (a grown-up version of the same material?). Thumbs up to the director!
I shared your video to my friend who was shocked it,said wow, Huawei ‘s still alive, It looks like the best company on earth!!!!! We are looking forward for next one, thank you for your all hard work 💕💕💕

Very good, thank you. I am really interested to see the rest of these interviews because this whole issue is so outrageous. I wasn't sure what I found more egregious about the behaviour of the US govt towards a private company: the sanctions themselves or the rhetoric attached.
