Hi there! I think both are nice watched but you should consider your phone. As the Huawei watch works best with full functionality if you have a Huawei phone, and ither phones not a full experience. While the Garmin watch works on mostly all Andriod phones phones with full functionality but no text reply for iPhones. I mention this as uour switching from an Apple watch 3 I'm assuming you may have an iPhone.

Hi Budi, yes do the following; Open Settings, go to Security & Privacy, go to Location Access, and then choose disable Access my location, to turn off GPS.

Hi Abby, thanks for the review. Can you say something about the synchronization of the steps to the phone. Currently my wife has a GT2e. There’s always a difference between the steps on the phone vs watch. The phone always has more steps. Thanks for your answer.

Hi Werner! I have not found a difference in steps, once I sync the watch to my phone the value updates on my phone and has been the same in my experience. However, I do not have step tracking turned on, on my phone. If your wife has that turned on it may change the step results.

Thanks for your amazing review. I've just got a few questions, though. In my country (Philippines), GT 3 42mm is cheaper than GT 2 Pro. I don't know why. What I know is GT 3 42mm was released last year (4th quarter) if I'm not mistaken and GT 2 Pro is just more than a year now from its release. My question is, which of the two will you buy? I'm crazy over GT 2 Pro. I watched a lot of reviews about it. Then came GT 3 42mm. There's much difference in their prices. About the features, I believe they're the same. Please help me to decide...

Hi Rey, they are very similar but some noticable differences are the GT 2 pro has longer battery life, and the GT 3 42mm has a faster operating system, all day SpO2, and a bezel-less design. I would go for the one with better price and the design I preferred (I personally like the design of the GT 3 42mm more). I can't choose your watch for you but, both are good smartwatch options and essential track and do the same things so choose the one you like more!

Hey Abby, thanks for the review, I am thinking to buy one for my wife and was looking there are two GT3 available one is gold with Frosty white band and other one is also gold with gold mesh band, I don't see much of a difference between two except one was white leather band and other is gold mesh and price is almost $100, now is the one with gold mesh band worth $100 more , please advise. Hi Mohit! The only difference between the two is the band. Also note the metal mesh band is more adjustable than the leather and has a more premium look. Both bands are nice, ultimately you know your wife best so choose the band you think she'll like more! :)

Hi Alice, I don't have wrist tattoos so I'm unable to test that for you. But, the Huawei watch will send you smartwatch notification regardless of if you have tattoos or not. Whether tattoos alter the heart rate sensors performance or not I am not sure. However, I have heard that many Garmin watches such as the Fenix series works fine over tattoos but, once again I haven't tested this myself.

Hello Augusta, it works well, not slow in my experience. Smartwatches don't need as much RAM as a computer or smartphone for example to run efficiently.

Do you have an idea of how much battery per hour it uses with GPS? With all extra monitoring turned off, I have an average of 18-20% battery per hour. That's a lot of usage for a sportswatch

Hi Susan the, the GPS function uses a lot of battery, and this is actually pretty common between many smartwatches, unfortunately I don't have a GPS usage per hour metric to give you.

@@AbbyBReviewing I sent it back, and they detected anomaly and replaced the board. So it even got a new serial number. I got it back and the problem persists. For a sportswatch it's battery drain with GPS is way to much. You are not able to do a long bike ride or trail with it. Anything over 5 hours forget it. For the price and compared to cheaper models like my old amazfit I think it's very disapointing.

@@Hom3sicK Thanks for the update! I agree lasting only 5 hours is definitely poor performance. Did they replace the watch entirely or just swap out the board on your existing watch? Also if GPS performance is important to you I'd recommend checking out some Garmin watches, they excel at GPS performance, many last 15-36+ hours on GPS (depending on in the watch). I've reviewed a lot of them if your interested.

Got it back today with a report saying no anomaly was detetected and only updated the software. I went for an 59 minute walk, the battery went from 82% to 63%. And what is so amazing, is thay have the option for hiking, trails etc, what for? The battery won't last more than 5 hours. I feel totally ripped off by the brand . I'm going to send an oficial complaint to the brand.

You can download some watch faces with the Huawei app see 06:18 in the video, I couldn't downlaod apps wouldn't work. This is optimized for Huawei and you miss out on some functionality when using with a non Huawei phone.
