Chigz, appreciate the brutal honesty mate. I subbed. But aren't MOST of the things you mention as justified criticisms of this Huawei not applicable to all Huawei watches? Inc the £500 Watch 3 Pro. I think most people buy the Huawei watches because they are the best looking in the business and offer excellent battery life. Which is achieved based on the fact that the functionality is somewhat limited. But you still get HR monitoring. Step and sleep counting etc. Other fitness related tricks. See what apps are pinging your phone. And so on. Take calls too.

It depends, because for the same money there are better options. HR and sleep is not enough. Any cheap fitness tracker can do it. But when your talking about £300 for a smartwatch, you better make sure your getting your monies worth for both features, specs and design. Also the huawei watch GT3 does not have mil-std durability and no gorilla glass. So if one hard knock smashes your front screen will you still feel it’s worth the money. More bang for your buck is required.

I've got the original Huawei Watch GT. Perfect choice at the time for me, cause it had pretty accurate hr monitoring, a nice app, doesn't look too sporty and cheap to wear all the time, extremely long battery life, small and lightweight enough for a slim wrist and lots of outdoor fitness activities, costs far less than the Garmin/Suunto alternative,... But now I'm curious what's out there after all these years. Maybe wanting to upgrade to something similar with more connectability and apps (wifi? faster bluetooth? strava? reading phone mssgs?) as well as music options (spotify). Seems like the GT3 does NOT tick all those boxes, and the Samsung GW4 comes pretty damn close. Great video, cheers.

Hy i bought the Gt 3 few days ago ,and im impressed i really dont need spotify ,it has a lot of brilliant features and 14 days battery life ,i tried a few smartwatches i had the first huawei gt too ,wanted to buy the galaxy watxh 4 but the battery is very poor max 2 days in good ways ,and very inaccurate ,gt 3 is a real heartrate king. Note: dont use any device for sleeptracking ,keep away every EMF (wifi,bluetooth,4g,5g) device away from you at least when u sleep.Sooner or later u will get heart problems ,feel tired etc. This is a fact.

Interesting. I still have my original first gen Huawei watch black on black and use it most days. Once I saw this video pop up, I got a bit excited thinking they finally went back to that premium aesthetic of the first gen. They certainly stepped away from the sporty look which I like but it's a shame it's lacking compared to the competition it seems.

Depends what you want from a watch. No watch does it all. He mentions the Galaxy Watch , being able to reply to notifications, ECG, calls etc. Now what isn't mentioned is the training metrics that Huawei GT3 has in comparison to the Galaxy Watch. So like I say it really does depend on what you want from a watch. Huawei is a better Watch to train with.

I'm sure there are some people out there who's specific requirements for what they want in a smartwatch would be fulfilled more by this watch than anything else available, and for someone who is mostly looking for fitness tracking and an attractive watch, but doesn't care about more smartwatch focused features as much, this could be a great option if they iron out some of the software problems. I just can't help but feel like at this price point I would probably expect more features and less software issues, (especially ones as major as not being able to update your watch or difficulty pairing it to certain Android phones) and that there are much better value options at this price point or lower, or if money is less of a consideration for someone, just much better options overall out there. Also, the benefit that something like the Galaxy Watch or any other device running WearOS has is that having access to such a huge app store makes it pretty likely that you'd be able to download something that offers most or all of the training metrics the Huawei Watch 3 has

I´ve have a problem with trainings. An hour with GPS uses 18-20% battery. I sent it to warranty, they said it had a problem and replaced the board. Well it still has the same problem. As for daily use with all measures like heart, sleep the battery is just fine. Maybe turn off all the extra monitoring and test it.

Wow, that is a shame... I was expecting the health tracking to be at least gold as their other watches, shame they haven't refined Harmony OS, Samsung did an amazing job with Tizen, Hauwei truly do have the most pretty smart watches out there followed very close with Fossil IMO then Samsung then Apple (don't like the rectangle look). Confused why they didn't make it work better on other android phones and iPhones, I thought they would care about expanding their weable market growth or something. I'm currently really enjoying my GW4 46mm 4G, can;t wait for the latest software update to reach the 4G models, the finally added the option where you can get rid of that stupid ambient display that obsucres everything before it goes back to AOD. It uses bluetooth to transfer watchfaces, that’s why the transfer is slow. Updates like firmware that are large take 30-60 min. But ALL updates and watchfaces has transfered and installed without any problem for me, got an Iphone 11 Pro.

iPhone, no issues as mentioned Celia works (well sort off, it does not understand me 😁, and my English is not that bad) Watch faces working just fine Yes, the notifications are just that, notifications and you can’t respond to them. Not consistent, they sometimes don’t work, and sometimes they send me notifications from apps when I’m in do not disturb (which is weird) I was shaking the watch the other day, drying it after I forgot to remove it when showering. It thought I fell, and without asking me, it called my emergency contact (Apple watch asks first)

Do not buy the GT3 42mm version. It is not made for sports. I noticed that the watch using GPS in running, bike or walk uses an average of aproxametly 17 to 20% of the battery. And this is with all extra things off. So since I was not able to do any activity over 5h to 6h, I decided to send it to warranty. The report said an anomaly was detected, and they replaced the board. When I got it back I went on 59 minute walk, the baterry went from 82 to 65%!! It has been sent a total of 3, and their final reply is that it is the normal consumption for the watch and I quote "This topic has been escalated to Huawei's R&D (Research and Development) department for a more detailed check, which may improve the equipment's performance in similar situations." That is not at all normal. If they have the option of hiking, trail that are activities that go way on more than 5 or 6h. What happens? Easy you run out of baterry before your exercise is done. In no manner can this even be considered a sportswatch nevermind for hiking, trail or biking or any type of extreme activity. And the brand will not assume that is has made a watch incapable of long hours with GPS and barometer on. I have been totally ripped off buy the brand! And the brand says it's a nromal value fo consumption. If it is normal at least put in in the specifications "not adequate for any type of training over 6 hours with GPS usage" Have to go back to my cheap but durable battery on my amazfit.

Anyone here that's had the Gt2 pro and moved onto the GT3 pro notice a difference in readings on blood O2 levels. Had the Gt2 pro for 2 years and through the night etc it has always showed around 98 to 100 percent, sometimes a dip here and there, I've had the GT3 pro for 2 days and it's showing drops to 91, making me want to put the 2 back on lol.

Great review. You can be even more scientific by watching The Quantified Scientist KZbin. I tried and returned Garmin and Fitbit, illegible screens, connection problems. I ordered Huawei GT 3 but I also ordered Wellue ECG with AI. Low blood oxygen or elevated temperature can be SARS COV 2. These devices are cheap if they can save your life. I still love critical reviews.

By the time you have an elevated temperature you’re going to be sick already. People think that they can have a fever but not be feeling sick, you’re dead wrong by the team fever sets in you’re well past the sick stage.

samsung doesnt have what the huawei has to offer. Most important thing is the battery life. I found samsung quite a gimmicky watch. I thought the huawei was a better quality watch (gt2 pro) than the samsung4 classic. I have no want or need to use wattsapp on my watch. I prefer a watch that works efficiently where I can charge a days worth of battery in 5 mins with fast charger. Where a full charge can last for weeks. I own both samsung 4 classic and huawei gt2 pro I prefer the huawei. samsung feels cheap and gimmicky and doesnt offer me anything that i dont already have on my phone. I also prefer huawei app, sleep for example is very accurate in data and useful in the information that it gives me. If i had to lose one watch it would be the samsung samsung is also very creepy about how much information it takes from you, its up for sale. its less comfortable to wear too. my huawei is made from titanium/ceramic meaning i can wear it every day, and wear it at night as sleep data is important. with samsung it has to be off my wrist regularly to charge, and charge again, thats a basic i want. that samsung is light years behind with.
