12:25 We don't call them "pick-ups" anywhere in the Antipodes! Aussies and Kiwis refer to those types of vehicle as "UTES"(Utility Vehicles) because they were invented in Australia in the 1930s.
@CaptHollister5 жыл бұрын
A bit of a bold claim. There were pickups for sale in the US in the 19teens. In fact, it was a fairly popular body style for the Model T Ford.

Enjoy NZ; my Dad and I toured all over both islands back in 1991 in a lavender Mitsubishi Lancer and the roads, scenery and people were all splendid! We got into quite a few ‘sheep-jams’ in our travels, but we also got to tour Ford’s NZ assembly plant for the Falcon and Fairmont. I brought home a bag of new car brochures for Ford NZ, Ford AU, Ford UK, Lada, Škoda, and yes, new Citroën AX and BX! Still have all of them! One town I highly recommend is Rotorua- a soak in the sulfur hot-baths all around town will guarantee you’ll sleep like a baby! Cheers...I am enjoying seeing the Kiwi scenery again in your videos!

Welcome to our fair shores, Ian! We certainly are the land of Japanese imports but it wasn't always this way - when I was a kid (1980s) I remember lots of British cars: Triumphs, Princesses, Marinas, Allegros, Maxis, Hunters - grandmother had a Hillman Avenger. I remember a primary school teacher who drove a Morris Minor, and there was a Commer van I'd pass on my way home from school. Lots of Ford Cortinas and Escorts (even the odd Capri) back in the day. Rover SD1s too. How times have changed. You'll still see roadworthy classic (proper) Minis about. Happy trails! :)

The thing I like about HubNut adventures is that you really get a feeling of what a place is like to visit. Not just the usual highly polished tourist views, but real places. Which is exactly what I want! I don't want some highly edited and sanitised thing, with Judith Chalmers or whoever. NZ looks a lovely place, just similar enough to the UK, but just different enough too. I can see why someone would want to spend some time there. A carburated 200,000 mile BX, what could possibly go wrong? Adventures ahoy!

This is Good because as much as I am British and was born and brought up in the UK, I'm proud to be British, but my Father and his family which I don't know are New Zealanders from the Wellington Area, so technically I'm half New Zealander and this is really exciting I never been to New Zealand but when I'm much older I will go. I'm 18 and I've heard there are so many Rovers such as the Rover 75 which I will get as my second car and some Rover 25s which are good to hear as I proudly own one now as a dream since I was little as my Grandad had one a few years back and someone I knew had one 10 years back. Jaguars and Rovers are my Favourite.

My first car was a BX 14 TGE. I used to load it to the gills with amps, guitars, drums etc and of course, band mates! My brother had a BX 19 GTi for a short time and the speed with which it kept looking for more tarmac used to astound me when I drove it! Also those roads look perfect for, along with the weather that day, a nice ride on my Triumph.
