Hubsan X4 Pro 1000m Flight , Daisy Nook Country Park , Manchester UK

I've been waiting for a calm day for weeks to do a long range flight test but I got impatient , seems to be windy almost every day at the moment.
Got some jello on the return journey purely down to the strength of the wind , I think the Quad did an amazing job of coping with the conditions but the camera definitely wobbles on the gimbal mounts , may need to get some stiffer mount rubbers or stuff something in there to stiffen them.
Overall well pleased with the flight.

I am getting one and the flying here is great. have a smaller one with little range. but we have days of no wind and your vid and dunniles just makes my want one more and more. great video.

This is great..I've had mine for a week now and just taken it up the max height and found it capped off at 255mtrs..I'm slowly building confidence in it and learning to trust it haha.. I've been waiting to do a range test on it.,, your flight gives me a confidence boost for sure.. I like Dustin's range test too.. Thanks for sharing this.. i hope you get some calm weather soon :)

Ergleblurgle FYI I trust my hubsan 501S more than I trust my Parrot bebop 2 and sky controller. Hubsan make awesome drones

"Alt Mode" and gunning it through the wind will without fail result in the H109 tumbling out of the sky. They simply cannot cope with the speed and have nothing left in the props for control. You've probably found that out by now... As I have.

Nice flight. I notice you have done an aerial modification to improve the range. I wouldn't worry too much about UK laws when enjoying your drone. Obviously don't fly near airports or sensitive areas. Keeping a distance of 500ft away from people, animals, buildings, manmade structures (Rule 5) is pretty impossible but you are potentially taking off and landing which makes it exempt.

Please be aware of the CAA laws governing RC flight in the UK, that have been around for decades and relate to all RC unmanned aircraft. In particular, you can not fly over or near roads/traffic or built up areas, or over or within 50M of any person or property that does not belong to you - property includes livestock, cars, buildings, powerlines etc. If you have a camera, there are also privacy laws that come into effect. The last thing we want is more restrictions and a crackdown on our hobby! See the CAA website for details.

No i don't have the parachute , this is the high version , as far as i'm aware you can't run the parachute with the 3 axis gimbal also attached , I think it becomes overweight for the Quad with both on.

+LeeMc007 You can - but not with prop guards...which I don't use anyways. I have the high edition as well and ordered the parachute separately at the time of purchase. In the manual it has a section on what configurations you can fly in and which you can't. 3 axis gimbal and chute are good...3 axis gimbal plus chute plus prop guards make it overweight. Flight times are not as long with the chute - but it's good piece of mind if you are flying anywhere there may be people or property (busier parks etc).

Nice! So this was 1000m round trip and what was the altitude? Just bought mine but havent flown it yet. BTW - they dont include the parachute anymore. I think its a gimmick and it really is too much weight - cuts down on the flying time.

Do you have any notes on how long the battery lasts with the camera attached, and without anything other than landing gear attached. LeeMc?

No sorry , I havent flown it without the camera and gimbal attached , I have 2 batteries and get close to an hour flying time without any problems so don't really feel the need to. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

I don't want to be the killjoy but just making sure you are aware of UK law regarding drone flight? The more people flaunt the law, the more accidents will happen and the stricter the rules will become, spoiling things for everyone.
