Not only did he save me money on all the connection parts you don't really need he actually acted as my personal installer when he helped me and did it from pure kindness! Good video, I upgraded my sons cts, with a touch screen. Wish I would have seen this before buying a lot of un-necessary items from the online electronics store. I agree with all your wiring, except for the red accessory power hookup. Do not power up stereo that way. If you remove panel underneath the steering wheel, move wheel all the way up, you see a wiring harness going to the ignition. You can connect the red line to the dark brown wire. It’s the second to the bottom, on the connector. It comes on, on the first click of the key.
@erniecarrasco91072 жыл бұрын
What about his original subwoofer. Wasn't that connected to it's own factory amp and to the actual radio harness all together. And why does his amplifier converter on use the positive and negative from the left? What if he just connected both positives and negatives from each side, right and left?

Also, what about his amp remote wire. Where should he hook that up to? Does it have to be connected to the radio on and off switch red wire?

The remote wire you used in the fuse box connecting it to The hvac is actually easier to get to. It's actually the brown wire below the red/stripped wire on the ac control harness in the dash right below the radio. how can connect my factory bose system that came with my car to the aftermarket stereo?

What does the factory deck need to be on for the aftermarket deck sound to come through? Does the factory radio and xm radio still work after this? I know this an old thread, hope someone still reads it and can help! Thanks
@robertgruber38646 жыл бұрын
Ok, answered my own question by actually doing the install. No xm, aftermarket stereo ties directly into speaker system. Now my question is, does anyone think an a/b type speaker selector could work in between the aftermarket and xm stereo? Input A side tied into the xm harness, input b side would be aftermarket stereo.... Output to the harness that plugs into the stock radio. That way I could keep stock xm and switch between the 2.... If anyone had some thoughts on this, please respond! Thanks

We at the "shops" like people who try and save a little money and to try to do it themselves because most likely they'll screw it up and won't be able to troubleshoot it... So we charge them to troubleshoot AND to fix it the right way ;) so keep doing what you're doing.
@NW_Mechanic7 жыл бұрын
Hudsonb11 yeah usually when they try to do it themselves and screw things up and then finally decide to come to us professionals, then we'll usually double the price. Because we got to undo everything they did, put everything back to how it came from factory, then troubleshoot everything that's messed up and blown, and then do it the right way. So it usually will end up costing them double or more in the long run instead of just doing it right the first time. and I have seen some stuff in my time that makes you think " Wow, some people should just not ever attempt to do certain things, then leave it to the professionals."

well that is one of the messiest install I've ever seen on KZbin from somebody showing people how to video. I advise anybody that does this to not use speaker wire for your power wire and not use electrical tape for your connections I would suggest butt connectors or solder and heat shrink to make it look nice and clean and not have wires just everywhere with tape hanging off of them. and you should never tap into a fuse box by just wrapping bare wire around a fuse, they make what they call a fuse tap, if you want to do it that way but that is not how I would do it. also if you use the right tools to cut the square hole to relocate the plug for your harness, it would not look is janky and messed up as the one in this video. would also suggest using better higher-quality RCA's and primary wire then what is in his vehicle. just saying if you want everything to work right the way it supposed to use the right materials, and tools and it will work and look a lot cleaner.

Ppl pay professionals for the experience and knowledge on doing the job right.. just because you install something and it works doesn't mean it's right. As a professional with a shop I can tell you I'm not even half way through your video An I see a bunch of mistakes .. you telling ppl to cut rca wires and connect to speakers with tape lol, power ground at cig lighter , ACC power just shoved into a fuse ...come on brah this us all a hack job. I feel sorry for the poor ppl who follow this how NOT to do video cuz they looking for trouble, An you gonna make ppl waste there money on buying damaged car parts and aftermarket equipment smh. This is 100 percent the wrong way to do this job .. you said you doing a remote start soon...lol well this is one of the easiest cars to do remote start/security system on..but still this vehicle has a can bus system ... you give ppl instructions on that like you did here ..you gonna fuck someone's ecu up in there car . Do some videos on shit you actually know what your talking about...cuz Car Audio is definitely not one of them.

No shop could do this and retain driver info center...why would I pay for what professionals can't do... Everything so wrong but everything in my car still works factory...pay attention 2 how long this video been up! Remote start video up and it works as well... I'm glad Everytime u so called professionals chime in...I took alot your work charged half your price and many ppl are satisfied except the professionals....zero return rate... U probably just got a job doin this fresh outta School and u wanna make your self seem knowledgeable... You're years late and a couple updates behind keep watching u might actually learn something
