Wake the FUCK up truly I agree me personally am tired of how our black Brothas and sistas have became so greedy, materialistic and think that sense they got what’s called status symbols that they can just ignore what’s still going on as an issue with our people a revolution is useless in words with no participants we gotta wake the FUCK up
@assassinmanx6128

The government/politicians/etc knows and knew how to divide and destroy. Humanity can always buy one another and cause them to ignore real issues. Totally agree with materialistic influence overwhelming communities and that was their plan. Instead of someone with wealth helping someone in poverse conditions? They talk bad about them. Thus causing most to repeat the cycle of violence and illegal acts to become what speaks down on them. I can't stand rappers/drug dealers/pimps and hoes flashing money and downing others in their own community for not being of their status. This is one of the reasons brotha Huey had robbery outburst on dealers. You better pay homage as well help others around you to rise. This is a struggle as a whole, one can't fight a revolution with no army to back him up. Unfortunately... It won't happen and can't. Our society is too damaged and the system finds more ways every minute to seperate more and more.

@@assassinmanx6128 The proletariat makes up the system and society, without us there are only plutocrats left. We dont need these current systems in order to survive as a specieis, we need to evolve by any means necessary. All the willpower is there, it just lacks vision/direction, education, and organization. To do what the panthers did is not that complex, but it require people who are willing to take the lead and commit 'revolutionary suicide'.

Huey Newton is an interesting and dynamic figure. He would not agree with the uncritical worship of his works, words, deeds, and legacy. It's difficult to talk about one Huey Newton, as he was an evolving figure who had different stages of thought and experience. In looking at the whole picture, it seems that some kind of psychological transition happened to him between his imprisonment and release in 1970. His entire affect and presentation seems to have been altered when you look at footage of HN from 1973-77 and thereafter. Over time, he may have been suffering mental illness as well as substance issues, accelerating his instability, and in response to incredible pressures, including external and internal attacks involving COINTELPRO, and possibly MK Ultra. This is what I glean from what a range of people observed, particularly within THE BPP. We need to have honest conversations about this subject matter, recognizing the contradictions within movements and their leaders/representatives. Not to tear anyone down, but to understand the phenomena. Huey Newton himself made this argument when he appeared on William F. Buckley's Firing Line circa 1973. At his best he is a Patrick Henry type figure for black Americans, and all those resisting injustice. At his worst, he was a damaged man who was harmed badly by the system he analyzed and struggled against, and acted in ways that were destructive to self and others. And regarding the discussion he had with Buckley, it's available on youtube. In it you can see HN dismantle Buckley, who was considered a leading conservative intellectual. I sense Buckley getting mad when Huey demonstrated his superior knowledge of Western philosophical constructs. He completely takes the air out of Buckley's sails in the first moment of the interview, when he asks Buckley who he would support in the American Revolutionary War, the colonizer or the colonized. Of course, either way Buckley was boxed in because of his own hypocrisy re. the legitimacy of black resistance and revolutionary struggle against far worse conditions than those that faced the American settler colonialists. Buckley was at times openly insulting to HN, who maintained his poise and was very respectful of Buckley. The interview is very stimulating and regardless of where one stands on these issues and the two men, it shows how far we have fallen in terms of the maturity and level of the contemporary political discourse.

Huey was very well founded in that Firing Line interview. James Baldwin had a great battle with Buckley in 1966. Buckley could not undermine the observable reality Baldwin expressed in Oxford. Buckley also evolved and obviously embraced much of what Huey said in the Firing Line interview. Buckley later wrote an Op Ed where he finally capitulated, leaving the blind fealty to reactionary pseudo-conservative positions he had previously steadfastly supported, when he said he would join the ANC in the RSA against the Nationalist party of the apartheid South Africa. Observable reality matters. America has become the realm of vociferous morons. You are correct, America has fallen far away from from intellectual discourse and dialogue.

Great analysis, and who wouldn't suffer Post Traumatic Disorder after being threatened by white supremacist fascists your whole life, facing death for the murder of a pig, and generally facing threats by saboteurs' such as Eldridge Cleaver as well as many other house negro Blacks. It's amazing he made it to the age that he did, only to be assassinated by one of those house negro scum he fought all his life to try to bring out of the white supremacist system of evil in Amerikkka and throughout the world. Rest in Power Huey, like he said, the reason they chose the Panther as a symbol is because the Panther will only strike in self defense and back up until its pursuer continues to threaten and attack the Panther as an animal, and we continue this struggle against the white supremacist pursuer on behalf of Huey and Bobby Seale, may GOD bless Bobby with more years of life.

This is an excellent post. My issue with all of the revolutionaries is that they eventually became compromised. And the challenge is finding that inflection point where they were their authentic selves and their compromised selves. For this reason, it’s hard to agree wholeheartedly with all that is said. What’s real and what’s not? Because for sure, socialism has not been a friend to black people.
