He’s genuinely nice. I was apprehensive to approach him because he was talking to his crew after the movie ended and was worried I would bother him. I said, “Excuse me Mr. Mangold sorry to bother you but I just wanted to say that I’m a huge fan of 3:10 to Yuma.” He thanked me, shook my hand and ask my name then introduced himself as Jim. I also wasn’t sure if I should ask for a photo but I felt like I’ll never get a chance to see him again and when I asked he didn’t hesitate for a second. He was very kind about it and one of the crew members offered to take the photo. This will be a moment I’ll never forget.

6:44 Mangold gets it. Worrying about continuity and such a strict cohesive storyline takes away from the potential for independent films to do well individually and potentially explore new directions in the genre. To allow better creativity. I mean really the fact that the X-Men franchise could even hash out Logan was because they didn’t care about continuity, that equals good indie films as a result.

Well honestly, I don't think it was entirely his fault. Studio interference can have a huge impact, especially when it was seen during the 3rd act. There's a reason why people preferred the extended cut version of The Wolverine which was Rated R.
