very proud of paul for showing his roots and how proud he is of it. I am first generation Asian-American, like paul I was born here in the US, but my mom is from Korea and I and my sibling are the first generation to be born in America. I also used to try and fit in when I was younger because I was different, but after I became an adult I realized that I should be proud of where I come from.

The hardest part of having a foreign background is maintaining the language. I actively seek out others who also speak Polish and make a point of doing so. It's important and gives you a different perspective on life and situations

I'm Polish myself. Well, from my real father's side anyways. I was born in New Jersey and raised in the Polish Catholic home lifestyle until I was 8 years old. And although my Polish father died when I was four, my American mother continued to raise us in the Polish life... Speaking MOSTLY Polish, eating Polish foods, celebrating Polish holidays, etc.... And when we moved from New Jersey to North Carolina, I had to learn how to speak more and clearer English because, never mind my last name bringing out the ignorance of people from the south, - including ignorant teachers, but the Polish accent was also very difficult for the southerners to educate themselves enough to accept me and my family. Now, 30 plus years later, I don't know or understand a single word in the Polish language. We no longer do anything concerning the Polish Heritage.

I am so sorry for your Father and I do like your Mother, having read about her attitude to the Polish heritage you have, which must have come from the love she had and has to her Polish Husband. It would be a shame to loose all of that, her efforts and everything your both Parents have done to support the Polish traditions in your home. I am native of Polish, being born and living in Poland but you are Polish too! Please do gain a power to recall, bring back Polish language to you and continue this remarkable tradition. Greetings - will be waiting for the message from you! :). I hope my English is not very bad :).

Yeah I kinda relate to you. I am 50% polish, I think. My mom was born and raised in Poland but came here, To America around 19 years ago. Her mother, my grandma is also 100% polish and Dosent speak much English, but my whole dad side of the family is American. My moms side is full polish even though my grandma and mom live here. I speak English and grew up here but I do understand the Polish language somewhat.

Wtf are u talking about... Poland was never invaided by Mongols wtf all People in Poland look like European (Slavic) Russian looks like Mongols u can see Because of their eyes
@LilyRose-theOne3 жыл бұрын
It’s because a lot of people came to Poland from the Middle East, like Jewish people, also from Caucasus region, east Ukraine, etc. Native Europeans are blond with blue eyes. If they’re not, they have mixed heritage even from generations before.
