I had Frankfurt for FS2004 and loved flying out of it. I am seriously considering buying this one. It's amazing the serious level of detail they've included in this version. The work that goes into these certainly justifies the price we pay for Flight Sim realism

Just FYI, 07L/25R is actually used for widebody arrivals, too. There are planespotting videos on YT showing A340-600s and 777s landing on it. I don't think 747s or A380s do, though.

Stunning scenery. I used to live not far north of FRA, and spent many a day there spotting and taking photos, so much traffic and variety. I'm really looing forward to this release so I can finally get to fly into a truly top notch rendition of what is my favourite airport. As the marketing line went:- 'Ja zu FRA!' 🙂

It was a long time coming, but looks to be worth the wait. Fantastic amount of detail. Jo Erland and his team did a fantastic job. The only "problem" I see it seems like they modelled the DB railway station interior, but when you go to the outside, the railway track isn't visible and you just see low-res ground texture. I wonder if that's intentional or if there's some terrain elevation issue and there's actually track buried underneath the ground. Mind you, this is such a minor issue. You're never going to notice that from a plane window.

The ground texturing and textures are top-notch, when flying in and out of EDDD on my LOQ 15IAX9 laptop with a 4GB RTX 2050 GPU, I like to have DLSS on performance and terrain LOD at 100.

The departures are usually split between runway 18 and 07C/25C by the first waypoint as follows Runway 18: ANEKI, SULUS, SOBRA, CINDY Runway 07C/25C: MARUN, TOBAK, OBOKA Runway 07R/25L will only be used for the departing aircraft coming from the southern aprons At least during rush hour the following can be expected for arrivals: 07L/25R: flights terminating via KERAX, INCOM and TANJO 07R/25L: flights terminating via EMPAX, SPESA and DEBHI From 23 lcl to 5 lcl the curved RNAV approaches will be used

First time I flew in a plane was 2002 on FRA-KLU (EDDF-LOWK) with a Dash-8. The plane took a VERY sharp turn to the left after take off, making me believe for a second that we lost power and are about to crash, and that my arrogance of taking an airplane instead of 8h train ride is now being punished by the universe. After the plane straightened out and climbed away I remembered "Ironic" from Alanis Morissette and had a laughing "cramp". I know that airport quite well, must have flown from there at least 50 times in my early 20s.

You have to rename the Crashbox folder in " EDDF_Placements_crashbox.bgl.OFF" know it should work

I own so many airports I’m getting picky now. I don’t know if you reviews SBRJ, but fun, it’s very short but has 737’s and a320’s flying out of it. The Redeemer Statue is nearby, and the city of Rio is beautiful. Worth checking out.

Nice video, really looking forward for a great scenery of Frankfurt finally. Took waaaay to long to finally get it. virtualFRA was a great gap filler, but this airport was in dire need of a top quality scenery. Two more days to go :) Small correction on the northwest runway usage: the runway is used for all types aircraft with three exceptions: No A380, no 747, no MD-11 (probably no An-124 too, but not sure about this one). This is not a technical limitation, but a political. They basically sold it to the opponents of the new runway as "no loud aircraft will be allowed", but more or less arbitrary selected the types, that cannot use it. A340, A350, 777 and 787 use it all the time with no issues and technically, 747, A380 and MD-11 could land there, too. The A380 is even quieter than some of the aircraft, that are allowed to land there, yet it is banned just because they needed some sacrifice.

Ah, hate it when devs use collision mesh-even some Asobo's WU handcrafted airports use it too. Good thing the collision mesh on the interiors can be disabled via Aerosoft One.

I love EDDF from Aerosoft, but it is very demanding on performance! - I have 64GB RAM, a RTX4090, flash drive + fast processor (I don’t recall;-), I also turned off the interior scenery, but I still get stutters when approaching and taxiing (Fenix A321).

It seems like hardly any stuttering, so good performance, I think if FSTL is loaded for example, then stuttering is very hard to avoid

You can't go inside because they have enabled collisions on those buildings. I make sceneries myself and I don't do that because of this issue and the cost on performance. The downside is of course people can't crash into those buildings, which I hope isn't something they commonly want to do.

I'm not sure if it works but try enabling the developer mode and use the developer camera perhaps.

Try slew mode and rotating the rear of the aircraft into the terminal. That may be a way of going inside.

@@AustrianA340 Good question, maybe they have better ways of fixing overall performance like well designed LODs but the fact that the sim calculates collisions all the time can cause performance issues. I personally disable collisions when I fly anyways.

Going inside airports in the sim is cool the first couple of times, however the hit on performance is not worth it to me. A lot more time is spent inside the aircraft and outside the aircraft compared to inside the terminal.

If there's an autograph of Jo Erland signed to a scenery you know it will be a quality and very highly detailed scenery. Together with his co-developer (don't know his name unfortunately) they delivered another great piece of art. Very nice video and preview. I spotted some little error's like the pink textured building close to the big KPMG office/hotel building And a bridge connecting from this building to the terminal is missing a piece. The buildings do have a "collision rectangle" around them, so you can not enter these buildings. That is the reason the camera jumps straight to the roof. A small tip! Next time when previewing a scenery you maybe slow a bit down with the camera movement and rotation. Thanks for this preview. Definitely a day one purchase. On the the next scenery. I hope CDG (LFPG)???
