The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued a large number of cannabis from the running train. On the first day of the first week of February, RPF officers and jawans recovered 25 kg 900 grams of cannabis by searching the train running between 15613 Up Mazbat and Rangapara North stations.
On Saturday, RPF Sub-Inspector Sohanlal Pradhan, Constables Girindra Bora, Digant Das and Bitu Tomar received information from special sources that cannabis was being smuggled in the 15613 Up Lachit Express train. Together, they got up to Mazbat station and started checking the nose of the train moving between Mazbat and Rangapara North stations. During their checking, six unclaimed hand bags were recovered under the seat of Coach No. NFSLR (R) 105701 (S3). On this day, RPF Sub Inspector Sohanlal Pradhan said over the phone from Rangapara North that 5 kg 250 gm, 4 kg 800 gm, 5 kg 250 gm, 5 kg 350 gm, 2 kg 250 gm and 3 kg of cannabis were recovered from the six recovered bags. . He said that the price of this cannabis in the current market will be 2 lakh 59 thousand.
