For anyone wanting the Canson watercolor paper - the actual paper brand (Saunders Waterford) is available on Jackson’s so you might be able to get that paper in different sizes of sketchbooks (or loose) there.

I found it interesting that Canson has a 100 percent cotton sketchbook. I've never seen that before. That Schminke vintage set is tempting. I look forward to your thoughts about these products. The butterfly painting is lovely.

It looks like they’re using paper from another brand (or maybe they bought the brand, or something?). I love the Saunders Waterford paper, I get it from Jackson’s - no mention of Canson.

I think you are right! I checked Jackson's a few times and I couldn't find these sketchbook under either company. I love my Saunders Waterford block, as well. That's what sent me searching for a sketchbook version. I hope Jackson's will eventually carry these sketchbooks.

I have the same Canson 100% Cotton Saunders Waterford art book. It’s great for watercolors. I wish it was bigger. I’m not sure if it’s available in a bigger size.

Isn't it lovely! I'm so glad you found one, too! I can't find it anymore, and it was my favorite out of the three. You might try the block from Saunders Waterford. It comes in larger formats, and it's very nice. I prefer the smaller size personally, as it makes me not worry about wasting it. In case my painting turns out horrible! Lol 💗

@@TheGypsyChic1 you’re right I should buy a block of Saunders Waterford paper, now why didn’t I think of that 🤔? I like to try out different blocks of watercolor paper. I’ve gotten over the wasting cotton watercolor paper stage. I bought some of Cheap Joe’s Kilimanjaro 100% cotton watercolor sketchbooks. They are great. Spiral bound, which I prefer, so the book lays flat, and it’s approximately 9 x 11 inches. So it’s a good size too. Got to use them up before the sizing goes. I don’t know long it takes for the sizing to go bad on watercolor paper. ☺️

I'm glad I could help! Haha, teach me how you did that?!? I still have a hard time using my best cotton watercolor paper. I make practice paintings in my sketchbook first, and if I love it I use the cotton. Oh, I haven't tried those! Thank you for the tip...and this is what I missed so much about KZbin!! I love spiral because it lays flat, and I worry about ruining the sketchbook when I make bad art. Lol Yes, I've been lucky as I have not had any sizing go bad on any of my sketchbooks or paper yet. But, I don't stockpile paper for that reason. 💗

@@TheGypsyChic1 teach you how to get over the fear of wasting cotton watercolor paper? Nowadays I only buy cotton watercolor sketchbooks and blocks so it’s no longer the exception but the norm 😉! Does that make sense? Also, 100% cotton watercolor paper and sketchbooks gives me the option of using plenty of water, granulation looks great on cotton paper, and if I do a lot of lifting and layers in my paintings I do not have to worry about pilling and making holes in the paper. I bought three Kilimanjaro sketchbooks because I wanted free shipping and I didn’t want to add too many paints to get to the free shipping threshold. Got to use the sketchbooks up, no hoarding allowed! 🤣

Thank you!! I guess I do the same thing. I only buy only 100% cotton paper sketchbooks, too. The 100% cotton blocks are what I need help using, as I'm afraid I won't like my painting and waste it. I keep all my bad paintings to repaint with another medium...so I guess I just need to remember that! I haven't tried the Kilimanjaro yet, but I love Etchr and Baohong. Absolutely, no hoarding paper! Lol ;)

I have been delaying all of my art purchases this year. I just can't justify spending 50$ on a new watercolor set when I have 3 or 4 sitting in my desk, same with pencils I have 2 sets, not big ones but I barely got to use them this year. So as soon as I get excited about buying something I ask myself do I really need it? The answer is not really. How you guys doing it?!

Yay!!! That is very prudent of you! I don't have too many items on my wish list left...so that may be me next year. As I've mentioned, no one ever needs many! For me, it is just incredibly fun. I love to try brands/colors for comparison since I do many reviews. They are for research purpose, as much as making me incredibly happy to try them. My ultimate goal is to find my top favorites, and then curate my collected down to just those. For me it often requires me going without many things like new clothes, makeup, shoes etc. As well as selling things that no longer bring me joy. 💗

@@moonlightgator Yes, that is what I do as well. I also sell things that no longer bring me joy, to buy my new loves. We have moved a lot too. I packed all of my favorites supplies with me in my rubbermate tote! Luckily you really don't need many supplies when you have skills. 💗

Buy iuile watercolors from them directly and not from Jackson’s, they run sales all the time and are less expensive in general when buying direct if you live in the US

Thanks so much for sharing the company runs sales! I only did a quick check, and was surprised they were more affordable when on sale at Jackson's. I would love try a few more when they are on sale and I have rewards at Jackson's. I will definitely watch for sales with the company! ;D
