@@fiarandompenaltygeneratorm5044 Fair enough, you are correct i did not read the post but that is not the norm. I just read it and from my reading the people writting were just as surprised. We did have an unusually easy winter. The deer population is up because of it. Maybe the bears did not have to tap into thier reserves as much as normal during hibernation this past winter.

They don't need to camouflage, cause they are at the top of the food chain of the woods...the other critters tend wisely to avoid them😁

@Yankeeprepper2 ай бұрын
What?? Colorado has twice as many Black bears as Minnesota. Hunters BY FAR donate and support wildlife habit more than any other source. If the men before you didn't hunt, kill and eat things...which is normal...just like bears hunt and kill and eat things. You wouldn't be here.
@danholtbk70082 ай бұрын
Not true. We hunt bears, deer, squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, ducks, geese, pretty much anything that lives in the woods. Or in Minneapolis.

The have to put weight on and lose it during hiberatiion. When bringing trash to landfills in the Adirondacks I would see large Bear running away. When I was little people would drive to the "dump", sit their cars, and watch bear eating. Just like a drive in movie. Lots of Black Bear in the Adirondacks. I did a lot of stomping around in the woods but was never threatened by a bear. They either ignored me or ran away. I stayed away from Momma Bear with cubs though.

I wonder how much of the heft for some of these bears is pregnancy. Odds are that one or more of these bears is female. I imagine the mothers-to-be have an even greater need to pile on the pounds because they give birth and nurse their young before they fully emerge from their winter dens.
