I always laugh watching your videos. We’re a farming family, and my 76 year old dad always says ‘ there’s nothing wrong with the horses, it’s the owners who are the problem’ 😂😂

I really appreciate how Steve is gentle with "wrongs" people are doing with their horses. He's as gentle/firm with the riders as he is with the horses and it's so genuinely delightful to see a professional who is not into intimidating people into acting "right' or shaming the rider into making changes. He really exudes the feeling that failing or doing wrong with a horse in ignorance is nothing to be ashamed of, just corrected, for the sake of the relationship between horse and rider/owner.

I’m 72 and about 3/4 of an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge. (Born in London. Dad was English. Mum was Welsh.) I don’t ride but my daughter rode hunter/jumper years ago. She works and has 3 kids now or she’d be riding. Doesn’t stop me from really loving your videos. Steve’s confident, calm, control in helping these people & horses with their problems is fascinating and completely logical. New subscriber. Cheers!

Another amazing video, as always! I'm pretty sure I do not have your patience!! When you were trying and trying and trying to get Mara to get on that ramp, I couldn't stop watching. It made me laugh and applaud your patience, then it made me nervous for you, and finally, it made me cry. Your concern and love for the job, the horse and the handler are very apparent. I have even found myself quoting you "Where the nose goes the toes goes" Unrequested forward motion Keep up the good work!

Oh boy that was a bad sound! Yep, if her foot went through that ramp it was be just awful. Thank heavens it didn’t go through. Glad you were there Steve. The little buckskin reminds me so much of my Paso. He’s a chubby butt too. And, a bit spooky. Nothing like a little enrichment, right ☺️. He loves to be around people but a little frightened at the same time. It’s so cool when they get to see new things. Really enjoyed the video. You always makes me want to run outside and play with my boy.

Well Equi-trec, what have you to say about the ramp.Mara wasn't bothered, well spotted Steve, i thought it was the grip strip coming away,I'm glad Maras mum listened about using the ramp again.I wonder what the weight limit of the horse was for the trailer, it was plenty big enough height wise and internaly. The horse is just my type, she's a beautiful mare, very switched on,the fine tuning Steve's giving will be the making of her.A very good video, a lot to observe.

Steve, this and the hay net video, are such great opportunities to look at the good, in a bad situation....count your blessing, turn your thinking around... The trailer breaking underfoot....nobody got hurt, the hoof did not fall through it. It happened at home not stranded miles away. Question did the trailer company post a weight limit for this ramp? I would call the trailer company, and in a nice way, explained what happened, tell them you have a video if they need it...and suggest that their other trailers can be fixed at the factory, so it will never have to happen to another horse, and save them a future lawsuit. If they offer you financing to repair your door/ramp accept it graciously. Make full door/ramp, extra sturdy. This was not a disaster at all, it is actually a blessing, for you, your horse, and any future horses using this design. Find the good in situations, you'll find the blessings. Thanks again for a great video.

What a gorgeous specimen of a horse Mara is! She ended up doing so well too. Love watching you videos Steve! I had a horse til I was 19. At 60 I’m itching to find a horse again. The one I had was probably proud cut (unintended stallion). He was a handful as a quarter/thoroughbred cross. I could have used your help 41 years ago. As it was I sold him to a rancher. I never knew what happened to that horse.

Brilliant! I feel fine tuning is good for any horse … no matter how well-behaved they may appear to be. If the horse doesn’t see you as a leader in their eyes’, there’s always a chance a problem may happen, when the horse requires a leader in whatever situation … yet doesn’t feel that about their owner/rider, as such. Always enjoyable driving with you guys to or from your jobs … and seeing the various landscapes! Happy Trails! 🙏🙌🐎🐴 P.S. Dan will be a ‘married man’ when you guys are off on your bike escape, in August! Hope the wedding goes off without a hitch … if they’re not already married, at this point in time.

Should have the trailer facing the other way. Then the sun would be shining into it. This way as the horse is facing the trailer the sun is in her eyes and her eyes can’t adjust as fast to the darker interior as she goes up ramp. Just a thought it might make it easier on the horse.

Oh, the horror of transportation! And I'm not talking about the horses! Trailer malfunction, other vehicles, road standards.. The paranoia is strong in me. I always loved Ifor Williams trailers as they are comfortable and easy to enter and leave for the horses. Good thing this happened when it did, and it didn't affect the horse in any way. Absolutely gorgeous mare!
