Sorry if the focal shift is distracting! I am still trying to learn how to use my camera and I had it on the wrong setting for some of this. It's only been 3 years, maybe in the fourth year i will finally figure out how to work it.

The pencil blender is meant for coloured pencils that aren't water soluble, IE ones that are wax or oil based. The way I've seen others use the brusho, or at least similar powders, is to wet the page first and dust the pigment onto it.

I felt bad for not reading the blog properly so I went back after filming and found out about the pencils 😂 So I guess I need to try them again with regular pencils!

I think my sister had brusho, she sprinkled it on the paper, then sprayed with a water mister. Or wet paper first then sprinkled on. Absolutely looooove these beautiful tree paintings 🎉🎉🎉

Hi April! I had to buy the Brushos last year when I watched a lot of videos by Karen Rice. She encourages you to do quick and easy semi abstract watercolor landscapes with old credit cards. And paint. :) She often puts some black brusho at the end on wet areas and it gives a lot of interesting textures. Like all the others in the comments, I also put a little hole in the top so I can use it like a salt shaker. Also I have two D.S. watercolour sticks but somehow I am not using them whether they are great fun.. I am enjoying your videos very much and always look forward to a new one! 💃

oh, please, do use the goldfaber markers on 300gsm cold pressed watercolour paper! it doesn't even have to be cotton. i swatched mine just today on my canson paper (my tombows, too) and the goldfaber are sooooo pigmented, they don't leave streaks when activated with water and they don't feel "dry" when you draw with them on watercolour paper (unlike the tombows). that really impressed me. love your art, thank you for sharing!

For the brusho pigments, I found out about them probably a decade ago and I forget who it was who told me about them, but they put these little hardware bits in them that essentially you make a hole in the top and stick the metal hardware in and then you can take it out and shake a bit out through the relatively small hole, I am definitely not explaining this well lol but it does help with the mess in terms of the risky business of opening and closing the little bottle.
@monkeymintaka5 ай бұрын
A few people have mentioned similar methods :) I have yet to try it.

Love the exploration…your color combinations are so happy and beautiful! Tell me, does the Liquitex acrylic gouache dry matte? Comparable to Holbein? I’ve been creating my own colors by mixing Inktense scribbles with Liquitex acrylic gouache, but I’m going to treat myself to a set of colors - not sure which brand I’ll choose, but I definitely want matte. Thing is, I love the nozzle on the Liquitex bottle … so you have a preference? Thanks again for your videos - you always inspire me to paint and play 🩵🕊️
@monkeymintaka6 ай бұрын
I have used Holbein for years and I think they will always be my favs because of the colours and just good vibes 🥰 They do dry up a bit if you don’t use them for ages and get very thick, so that can be a bit annoying. But a little bit of water will bring them back. The Liquitex was lovely and smooth and you do get more in the tube. I think the nozzle is fun but also can be dangerous 👀 especially if you are heavy handed like me 😂 I think the best thing would be to get a couple of each and see for yourself. I don’t think you can go wrong really. For the matte of each - I can’t really remember 🙈 I think they would be similar though.
