Oh man, Happogahara... seeing this touge always makes me instantly think of Kaido Battle 3 (Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2), the amount of hours I spent racing there in that game, I could probably do the consecutive hairpins blindfolded! That was a glorious little game, your videos always reminds me of it, specially on touges featured in the game. Brilliant driving as well, nailing this balance between understeer and oversteer in a heavy AWD car like the GT-R is no small feat!

i got it and tried it today, this man is extremely skilled, an evo 6 could barely fit on the road (and I crashed, flipped and lost a wheel). its incredibly tight and so long you always have to be on your toes.

This got me thinking. He was far from the apex of some corners, so in that regard I can't call it precision driving. But he's very smooth and collected, even with a front heavy car. The understeer is understandable but he isn't fighting it like how you would on an all out time attack. He's more like dancing and enjoying the ride, but happened to get a fast time nonetheless. I guess my first interpretation of your statement is more like precision cornering which is not true considering how many apexes he missed. But it is actually precision driving because he drove a smooth and consistent line. I dunno I like overthinking stuff, I probably should've just agreed with you on the spot instead of think about it.

I like how they make such a big deal out of how HUGE and HEAVY the Skyline is in Initial-D. But the size and weight of an R34 are comparable to an S197 Mustang or the new Z, making it downright petite by modern standards. The R32 was genuinely light; under 3,200lbs. It makes the current BMW lineup look like a bunch of absolute rhinos.
