Eden M excuse me, but you sound really rude! don´t you now, that she is making videos for epic reads = harper? i think that´s the reason she is getting that many arcs and sasha is one of the booktubers, who uploads really often and makes great reviews. do you now how many work it is, to edit videos and stuff? i understand that it seems unfair, when "normal" people don´t get books for free, but you can always start a blog/channel and see how it works out for you :P and the reason people like her are making videos is not for free books, it´s because of passion and love for the books. publishers pay a lot of money to other sites for promotion and sending books to shops & co...why not send a book in excange for an honest review? and do you honestly now every book on your shelf and can pronounce author and title correctly? well, you must be so perfect.

You completely missed my point. I'm not talking about reviews. I'm talking about this video specifically. A book haul. I don't care that she received so many books. But when you receive so many that you don't even know that you have duplicates, or you receive so many that you can't even spend the time to tell us a little bit about them because the video will be "too long" - don't you see a problem with that? It turns into a video that says "hey guys, look at all these free books I got". I have absolutely no reason to go out and buy the books she was supposedly promoting because I was given no information about them.

Eden M I was reading through these comments and I can't help but agree with you. She should have done two separate videos so that she could have described the books in details because, like you, I won't be looking into any of those since I didn't get any info. Also, she should have been more careful to not put two of the same copies because, as you said, it does come off as almost bragging. I felt like you were being pushed in a corner since they didn't understand your point :)

Tudor facts: late 15th century to early 17th century (1485-1603). VII = seventh (ruled 1485-1509). VIII =eighth (1509-1547). Seventh could also be IIIX, but unlikely. Eighth is also sometimes IIX.

Publishers contact Sasha and send her books for her to read (in the hopes that she will like them and put in a good word) and then Advanced readers copies (books that are yet to be released) are sent to her to read as well

I know that she got a lot of her books from publishers but serious question. How can someone afford a 40+ book, book haul. I have seen a lot of videos where people go out and buy all of them, how? I am a college student and would love to this but,for obviou reasons I can not simply go and buy all these books I want. I have to pay for college. What are your guys thoughts on this.

Started on Ruby Red last week and haven't read much, but the beginning seems a bit like a tween book. Might be different once I progress in the book, but the writing seemed to make it feel that way. Well we'll see where it goes from here. :) Maybe it gets better.

I was wondering every time a booktuber or just somebody said "(a publisher) send me this books to read them" how the publisher knows who they should send them to like do you write them or something like that or if they ask you and send them to you just because you are a booktuber?

You can often apply to get arcs and drcs, but usually publishers just send bigger books to people with a lot of views consistently. Try eidelweiss (not sure on the spelling) to get Digital Review Copies of books or apply to giveaways on Goodreads for some Advanced Reader Copies. The more you review and get a good following usually, the more publishers will seek you out or accept your requests to review.

Roman numerals are pretty easy. I find them really cool, because it's fun to figure them out. So in case you're interested: Romans had signs only for a few numbers. I is 1 (pretty obvious), V is 5 (there's a bunch of jokes about a guy ordering two beers in Rome and getting five instead, when he rose two fingers :D), X is ten, L is 50, C is 100, D is 500 and M is 1000. For every other number you have to use math to write it. Most of the time you add up. Like 2 is 1+1, so you write II. 7 is 5+1+1 so you write VII. But you generally shouldn't have more than three identical signs right next to each other, so for a number like 9, which is 5+1+1+1+1, you would have VIIII, which we don't use anymore. Instead you write it as 10-1, which is IX (you write the lower number first to indicate substraction). That's it. It might be more complicated for some of the higher numbers, but to identify kings, you really just need this :D.

Aaaah, YES! You need to read Ruby Red! I've read the complete series in German and it's amazing! I think you'll like it very much. There are also movies out to the first two books, but I'm not sure there is an English translation.. But there will definitely be some subtitles somewhere. :) (The movies are not as good as the books though, duh, but they are astonishingly good for a fantasy movie "made in Germany" :)

abookutopia There's also a book to movie adapation from Ruby Red! Actually there're two, because the second book also got a movie. They're a bit different from the books, but still great! (Just like the books!!) You should definitely check them out! Though I'm not sure if it's gonna be that easy because the movies are from Germany and I'm not sure if they're available in the US.. Still you could watch the trailers on youtube or so.. :)

I know I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this but romance ruined the Ruby Red trilogy for me. I loved book 1 but I thought the romance was so bad in book 2 and 3. Gwen just would not shut up about her romantic interest it was so annoying. I actually didn't finish book 3 it got so bad. Again, just my opinion :)
