Crime and punishment was a mandatory read for me in high school, we had to read or at least study really thoroughly classics (english, russian, italian...) in Croatia; I'm talking 18 years ago or more, I don't know how's the system now. I hope nothing changed because I loved it 🙂

I'm reading alone with you by olivie blake , dissolving classroom by junji ito , a classic arabic book called وحي القلم للرافعي and ce que le jour doit a la nuit by yasmina khadra .. and as someone who speaks 3 language and read books of the three languages I can relate to the struggle of the disappointment you get when you don't get every word in a book but i have to remind myself that it's totally fine .. languages are rich of words and there's words i don't understand in even some classic books in my native language arabic And it's okay that's one of the good things about reading you learn a new word everyday I've come to the time where i don't really have that awful feeling when i find difficulty with some words .. be kind to yourself you're already so smart reading all this books in your second language! Also .. hearing your Spanish makes me just want to learn it 😭 i'm sending you all the love and support bella ily ! ❤️

I just wanted to tell you the past month wasn’t the best for me, reading has been a daunting task to do although I loved doing it so much before. Yesss You got me into the the big classics 🥰 I bought Count of Monte Cristo, Don Quixote , Anna Karerina and 3 Fyodor Dostoevsky few days ago. And Im actually really excited to read them !!! I love that you started reading poetry!! It is ok if at the beginning is hard, so it was for me. I would highly recommend you to read Anna ajmatova (Russian poet in the silver era) in Spanish “yo soy vuestra voz”. I never actually thought that people could get discouraged or think that they are stupid for not knowing the meaning of a word, English is my second language , so I thought that it was natural that I won't know all the words in it. For a long time, I didn't know the meaning of masochistic and I didn't even look it up until much later🤭. Also, you should know how much you reading these big classics is an inspiration to a lot of us, you make me want to get over my fear of big books.

I can definitley relate to the feeling of not knowing some words when reading, especially classics. I look them up and sometimes i write the meaning on a post-it and have it in the book and i even have a notebook where i collect words as i learn them😅 I am from Denmark.
