Such a great haul ✨If you enjoy Bunny and/or My Year of Rest and Relaxation, I would recommend anything by Melissa Broder. Ottessa Moshfegh's other books are great too, but Lapvona isn't for the faint of heart haha. Also, to answer your question: My favourite book I read recently would probably be The Overstory by Richard Powers or Thanks for Having Me by Emma Darragh, which is a series of interconnecting short stories and vignettes.

1) Justifying a book haul by saying that you could be spending the money on drugs is such a vibe, and specifically was me this past weekend. 😂 2) I audibly cackled at your disdain for ACOFAS because honestly, same. I have a love/hate relationship with that series but ACOFAS is all hate lol. Based on what you said about the “main trilogy” getting too smutty, I’m interested to see what you think of ACOSF - it’s by far the smuttiest so far, to a degree that took me by surprise. I’m not big on smut but that book may still be my favorite in the series, if only because Nesta’s character development was pretty good, and IMO better than Feyre’s. 3) I’m trying to get back into reading after stopping for no real reason around the holidays, so the last book I read was Fourth Wing, which I was pleasantly surprised by! 4) Very excited for your booktuber era! 5) Happy belated birthday!

A Court of Frost and Starlight is kind of like the "Christmas special" of the series, if that makes any sense - it's a bit of fluff in the middle of some heavy stuff. ACOSF is well worth the rest of the trek though. My favorite books I've read recently is definitely the Rook and Rose series by M. A. Carrick - it's a completed trilogy, and it has a lot of really interesting worldbuilding and two separate magic systems, plus some queer inclusivity!

A Court of Silver Flames is my favorite ACOTAR b/c of how it depends Nesta’s character & the lore❤ but be warned it’s also by far the smuttiest of all the ACOTAR books - so just be warned lol Also def read Throne of Glass in whatever order you want! Personally, I read Assassins Blade dead last. It’s similar to ACOFAS in that it’s gonna be boring unless you already care about the characters. I also just didn’t want to stop the momentum of the main plot line - needed to know what happened after Crown of Midnight & Assassins Blade is a Prequel to TOG

Wait, wait, I need to know your beef with Icebreaker! My partner and I read shitty sports romances for fun, and I'm dying to know what Icebreaker is like and if we should give it a go.

If you read it together for fun, you’ll have an absolute hoot with it. The writing is so bad (in my opinion), the whole book just feels like one giant sentence?? It’s also 99% smut, they get together pretty early on so there’s no tension… and THE UBER SCENE. Read it just for the Uber scene lol

Oh, I loved the whole Wool series books, really gripped! But I really couldn’t get into the TV series, I found that quite boring 😄

Goes through all the Booktok books... Then goes to Maggie O'Farrell. IT is two completely different worlds, communities in the book world. I think it is less bookstagrammable or tikotable someone who reads what "booktok reads" and what is """considered"""" more """serious""" and less ""commercial"" literature. By experience, I mean. I read both things...But on social media you just see both extremes. At least what I am impacted with. But Hamnet has been widely talked about and hyped about. Here in London it has a threate play. Not rudeness intended.

Amazing! I just haven’t personally heard about it 🥰 I love books because you can read Booktok books and then jump into a widely acclaimed literary fiction novel - there’s room to love it all!! Xx
