It’s a great practice to begin a more mindful consumption practice. We’ve definitely been seeing being a book person turn into an aesthetic and something to over consume. I really appreciate you and your channel and that you seem to genuinely read so so much, plus it’s been your job for years as well. Anyways, it’s just been something on my mind recently with the book community continuing to go down the overconsumption path

(and save money and shelf space lmao). I can't remember if you've read Serpent & Dove but it has a similar premise to Heartless Hunter and you might like it more. Takes place in France, enemies to loves, forced marriage between a witch and Church loyalist. Very CW-ish, but enjoyable haha

Sometimes it is hard to let go but in the end I barely ever remember the books I've unhauled, which speaks volumes for itself + I always keep at the forefront of my mind how there's so much to read, so little time (and shelf space) to get to everything I might have an urge to read in the next 5 years.

Okay time to be the advocate for a couple books 😂 I absolutely adored The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea! It felt like I was reading a shoujo manga, and as somehow who struggles to visualize when I read, like I was there the entire time seeing it play in front of me. Helps I probably watch an insane amount of Shoujo. And Queen of the Night! Now I listened to the audiobook, and I really think the narrator really helped sell me on this story. I can see where some people didn't care too much for it, but I really think it's a great audiobook to borrow from the library and I definitely enjoyed my time with it.

I battle most of my book hoarder tendencies with Libby. Still have over a hundred books but the library is so convenient and cheap! (: On a completely different note: You should give the Dresden Files another shot (espechially the audiobook)! I really would love to hear your thoughts on so many of the books! The first two (the second is the worst) are definitely the weakest of the series. The noir influence of every female character being a femme fatal or damsel in distress gets better and Harry behaviour is a clear character flaw that he gets better with and that it very consistent with his unusual upbringing. The first three combind could be a normal fantasy tome, so it's not as big of a time commitment. You might also consider starting with the third book without being lost. Others say you could start with later volumes aswell but a huge overarching conflict really gets going because of events in Grave Peril and it's very dramatic and later books would spoil it. Edit: Had a half sentence in there. (:

I've been working on decluttering my bookshelves as well due to space not being available. What has helped me with books that are later on in a series - I will find the e-book to the ones I'm missing, read them and then unhaul the book I'm currently holding onto in the series. Not a solution for everyone I will admit that. But some food for thought.

One Dark Window/Two Twisted Crowns seems like it’s beloved by people who are specifically into the Forest Magic subset of fantasy. Practical Magic is actually the worst in the series! Magic Lessons is excellent as a standalone. Andddd the star and the strange moon isn’t horror. It was probably the best iteration of “lost media” and books about filmmaking I’ve read. Unhaul if you want lol but it’s fantasy about a vampire film, not horror in itself.

Jensen jumped to the new trendy romantasy formula (all spice and cheesyness and no actual romantic developpement) with that third book and the new couple, it was terrible.
