Hi Friends! Happy to finally share everything about my closet makeover. I loved creating this functional space and I hope it is able to give you some ideas. I wanted the pax system but it was going to cost over $1,000 dollars so I had to get creative. We ended up using Ikea bookcases and I think it turned out so good! Fits well into my space, I painted the back green. It's very easy to customize just the back if that's something you want to do. I would suggest sanding it first before painting, I got a little impatient. The shelves kzbin.infoUgkxM8H4CjCb79vzeyvgaFMdzmLm88oVFPMkare pretty small so keep that in mind if you're going to have it horizontal that some books won't fit. I like the snug look that it has. Good small shelf if you don't have much space, but not too small. Simple to put together, though you'll need your own tools, a screwdriver and a mallet/hammer, it's easiest to do with another person.

just a tip with the ikea bookcases, the shelves are supposed to be pushed down so the little pin goes completely into the holes on the shelves, and not just balancing on top. :)

I have that same terrible shelving system. It’s not intuitive but they are pretty easy to remove. Love the closet and jewelry box.

I know you're not here anymore, but just an idea for future reference; instead of having a door at all, add a beautiful curtain rod above the door frame and use pretty sheer curtains. Add matching pulls in case you want to drape them to each side.
