Thank you for this entire program. It lifted my spirits! And when you discussed the lady who owned the collection, her family, and the idea of how dolls come into our lives, was just a wonderful, personal moment. Thank you so very much!

Sooo amazing! How fun for you to be on the receiving end of that massive collection. I was so excited to see that row of Ellowyne's you opened. Back in the 70s I had the Barbie Camper and then got the Barbie beach bus the next year, Wow! that sure brings back the memories. My doll collecting really started for me around age 10, Like you I didn't discover the Tonner dolls until 2015 and then started collecting as many as I could find. Yes! Janice is one of us and I completely understand. Your kind words to her family were so heart felt. Thanks Rachel for being the good person you are!

Rachel, I loved the video. My heart can truly relate. I was 23 and my mother was dying of colon cancer. I was putting myself through college, so between classes I was at the hospital. She and my father had me late in life. She was 37 and he was 40. Back in the 60's you did not have children that age. My mother had her hands full with 4 older siblings that I really never knew because of the age difference. My parents were depression era, my dad was ww2 vet. My mother and I along with my precious grandmother who lived up north became a 3 corded bond. My mother wanted to know all about my day, all the details etc. She was my best friend. I played with barbies, but grew tired of them. I played with my childhood 60's dolls until they fell apart. I still had a baby doll, a baby tenderlove and my original teddy bear, fur rubbed off and sew on button eyes. When ebay came about. I went back and found those broken dolls. Dancerina and Baby walks & skates NIB that are in a cabinet. I discovered artist dolls when Gotz and Zapf dolls started showing up at TJ Maxx and Tuesday Morning because they were not being sold off of HSN or QVC back around 2000. These were not toy dolls, they were numbered editions, real hair, glass eyes. No one was buying them because the electronic age had begun. I had lost both of my parents by now. My son was diagnosed with a rare combination of Classic Autism and Mental retardation (1 in 10,000 births) Dolls became a therapy and an escape. I never knew about Tonner until I was at an antique mall and found "Susan and Lucy" both from his Chronicles of Narnia series. I bought them dressed in their royal gowns plus a Helen Kish doll for $20. I went home and googled ebay and saw Ellowyne. This was 2019 pre covid. I bought Ellowyne and her friends which I thought were all named Ellowyne. very inexpensive. I dolls here and there in my home. I told you I did not collect antiques until the estate sale guy handed me 5 for almost nothing. Now I am amazed at how beautiful they are. My bi lo and my dream baby are in a case and I have 2 K & R, Simon and H. in my bedroom. At 59 I need to give instructions. My daughter hates any form of dolls or plush animals. I told her that it would be easier to take them to a secondary market dealer when the time comes. Dolls are in the top ten most collected items and We as collectors have an official name that no one ever hears "PLANGONOLOGIST'' I have so enjoyed watching and learning all about you. My mother and Grandmother are both in Heaven and I Miss them so much. So the dolls are a legacy and will move on to bring joy to someone else. I feel like I have known your mother through your loving words. I am glad that Janice Spreng's family can now have peace. The Tonner dolls will be listed in archive files, I do not have a big collection but many in the facebook clubs I think own every one he made! So some might be in the wrong box but it won't take long. Just like your video of the American Girl Dolls, the woman who was looking at the collection could name them off the top of her head! Take care and God Bless, I can just see Holland Diane with a fishing pole in her hand!!!!

This was a beautiful video about a woman who loved her dolls and who now knows her dolls will continue to live on with other people to love them. I always feel so inspired watching these videos. My own collection is small and not valuable in a monetary sense, but to me my dolls are priceless, as they bring me great joy. I have fun dressing them for holidays and for vignette scenes like baseball, sewing and western.

I didn't watch the whole video but finally did. Wow, Rachel, I so appreciate what you said at the end. I was thinking the very same thing -- she was a person who was truly loved and she had a life and a passion and a world of family and friends who treasured her. This is only a small part of her life (the dolls) but it WAS part and she existed! and then there you were at the end of the video pronouncing that! There is a heaven... I truly know there is. This life is but a blip on the radar screen and then we are all back home again. Love you Rachel and I love your compassion ❤

But, the words you said at the end of the video really brought everything home, in prospective. I cried for Mrs Spreng and her family, and for you Racheal and the loss of ur mum. Im so happy you have this huge collection to take care of, I couldn't think of a better person for the task.

I am sure that our Lord in his mercy brought them to you, even if only to hear you say that your mom went to heaven. That is where she is, and one day you will be with her again. Rachel, Sorry to be comment so late, but so much is going on now with my Mom's recovery from surgery. And thank you so much for telling us that 💛💛🌹🌹Janice Sprengs owned this beautiful collection of Barbies and Robert Tonner Dolls💛💛🌹🌹!! It makes the Dolls extra special knowing that she was a Grandma and so loved💛💛. I too was touched by Alzheimer's Disease in that my Late Dad who passed in 2008 had Alzheimer's Disease😔😪. And my Brother's Wife died on Christmas 2021😪😪 because she not only had Lupus, but Covid-19 killed her. My Brother's Wife was only 48 years old😪😪. It helps me to to know that 🙏🙏🌹🌹my Sister In Law and my Dad are in Heaven as well🙏🙏🌹🌹. On a more light hearted note, I would😃😃👍👍 LOVE it if You and Christopher would do a Skipper bit😃😃👍👍!! And I got so excited when I saw that Barbie Camper because I too had a 70s Barbie Camper my Late Grandfather bought me!! Unfortunately, I no longer have that Barbie Camper😔😔. As for Janice Sprengs U-haul Doll haul I have many favorites. However, I just want to say that the blue sweater in the pack might be the original sweater worn the Brooke Shields Doll, which I still have today!! My favorites of Janice Sprengs Collection are: Becky who I so love her outfit with accessories💖, Straight leg Ash blonde Skipper from 1964💖, Barbie Cool Career Fashion Nurses dress with accessories from 1996💖, Check On Me Ellowyn Wilde's dress looks so sharp on her❤❤, Vintage🫖 Tea Ellowyne Tea Ellowyne Wilde with 🫖adorable Tea Set❤❤❤❤, Lizette's leopard gloves💖💖, Ellowyne Cinderella Moment with blue ruffled gown💙💙 with beautiful sliver shoes💛💛, and Delicate Balance Ellowyne with beautiful pink boots with bow💖💖!!! Rachel, Thank You so much for sharing Janice Sprengs beautiful Collection with us💛💛 and my sincerest condolences to her Family🛐🛐🌹🌹.

I love the message you said at the end of the video. As a doll collector, for instance, it would be a dilemma for me to let go of the dolls I collected as they are an investment for me. They are a pure joy. Not a lot would understand doll collecting is a big thing, because it is. Some would think it is idle or childish to collect but they are wrong. It is a major crisis that I would feel if something bad happens to me and I got no one to turn my doll collections to. Especially my family, who are not interested in dolls as they think of it as a waste of money for they are expensive. So for that reason alone, I fear for my dolls. Doll collectors to doll collectors are the ones - I think would be the best to inherit the dolls just because of the connection we get in dolls. I said what I said because I resonated a lot with the story you shared. So, thank you.

I have the actual Teen Skipper cover model from Barbie Bazaar, July-Aug 1997 issue. I haven't redressed her or removed any of the temp tattoos that were on her for her cover shoot! I also still have my own childhood '64 ash blonde Swirl Barbie; I had to replace my '61 #5 blonde, who ended up at Goodwill before I discovered the collector community!

Awesome collection you acquired 👏! I'm sorry about your mom 😢 we lost grandpa's sister to Covid too 😞 I don't know anything about Ellowynne dolls either but they are pretty👍 I have a similar Wonder Woman doll that I believe is by Madame Alexander 😍 I've always wanted a Wonder Woman Robert Tonner doll so if by any chance you find one in that collection please let me know where I can buy her ❤ I have a huge Wonder Woman collection & she'd fit right in & be totally loved!
