Great Daddy/Daughter video as usual. I am a massive Green Lantern fan that pink Thing-looking monster was Ashor, or something similar, who had actually hit Hal Jordan hard enough to blind him. Guy Gardner is my favorite and I want to get that issue at some point.

Another great video. I get a thrill watching the books you pick up…especially if they’re books I still own. I was just clearing out my attic and found a stack of books I stored away and forgot about. Among the books was a bunch of Master of Kung Fu including the final issue that you presented. I used to think I was a collector. However, I’ve come to realize that I was more of a fan/reader who kept and preserved the books. I rarely bought books outside of the period in which I was actively reading…the Bronze/Copper age. I have since sold/donated most of my collection. I still kept certain books that hold extra special meaning to me. My collection is down to about 300 books.

Thank you for the kind words, must have been hard to cull the collection down to 300, I never collected Master of Kung Fu before but I love that time period at Marvel, so much creativity and a lot of freedom there during the late 70’s. Some Great stuff came out then, long lasting characters and awesome storylines. Glad I was around for it. Would love to hear about some more of the 300 you kept

@ I agree. The Bronze/Copper age had the best stories with the most talented/creative writers/artists. Chris Claremont, John Byrne, Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Starlin, Perez, etc. Among my 300+ books, I kept: Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (1-4), Batman: Year One issues, The Batman: Year Two issues, The Death of Captain Marvel graphic novel, ASM 252, 300, 301, 316, Uncanny X-men (many of the Claremont/Byrne issues), Avengers Annual #10, many of Byrnes FF issues, Byrne’s Man of Steel limited series and regular Superman run, some of Frank Miller’s Daredevil keys, the entire Alan Moore Watchmen run (1-16), Superman Annual #11, the entire Perez run of Wonder Woman, etc. Most of my books are high grade as I bagged/boarded them immediately after reading. I couldn’t part with these despite parting with over 13,000 books.

Sounds like some great books and always nice to hear to from another John Byrne fan, love all his work and he is the top of our list for creators to interview. We haven’t heard back from him yet, fingers are crossed.
@txmoney

@@Collectorsconfessions I wish I could help you get that Byrne interview. I no longer maintain contacts with my co-workers at Marvel. It’s been over two decades since I worked there. I hear Byrne is a tough get.

Thank you for even thinking of it, we heard he was tough, but we will keep trying. We really like interviewing the older creators they have such great stories of the hobby.

@@Collectorsconfessions i never found it much fun to play with so it never broke. batteries died and it just sat around for years. i think it got sold in a yard sale when i was a teenager. my brother should've known better than to sell all our old toys, he was in his 20's.

Nice pickups. We went to ocean city md comic con yesterday. Its a 2 day event. Lots of artists signing as well as other vendors selling their goods. Plus cosplay as well as replica vehicles like A team, batman, ghostbusters. R2d2 was there along with stormtroopers and other star wars peeps. Picked up 2 keys. Supermans ex pal jimmy olsen issue 134 and Supermans Girlfriend Lois lane issue 106. And its wild that i also picked up Green Lantern issue. I grabbed #56 from Silver age..lol. keep up the great videos!

Thank you for the kind words and for watching. We would have loved to have went to OCCC yesterday but with the holidays coming up we have a lot of family gatherings to attend. The Jimmy Olsen 134 has been near the top of my want list for a very long time, but never see it at a nice price. How were the $1 bin selections there?

@Collectorsconfessions i completely understand. Thay always do that one this time of the year. 1.00.bins were good..i have a nice haul of those as well lol. The jimmy olson has been on my list for yrs. It's mid grade copy which I'm ok with since I got it for 100. I knew the dealer..he bought a massive collection and has been liquating books from it. He there every year. He actually keeps most of the books in my town and one day, I want to go diving lol. He has from golden to modern. Almost picked up 1st riddler in silver age as well. He has had that book on display for awhile. He works with me since I've bought from him several times. I wasn't planning on buying that big with holidays so close but when we went back.and forth on both issues and he was willing to work with me on price, I couldn't say no. I'm seeing more and more regular folks, not dealers selling off their pc. And since they have no overhead, they really work with buyers.

That is a great deal!!! And yes same here more on more collectors selling there collections at small shows, it’s better t then selling them to a dealer if you have the time and they definitely are willing to make deals. Ohhh first Riddler would be really nice. Searching through $1 bins is a great way to get rest for the holidays! Maybe next year we will make it down there. Funny my sister just came up from around Ocean City for the holidays, maybe next year we’ll go the other way

@Collectorsconfessions looking forward to seeing your schedule of shows for 2025. Maybe catch one where you all will be at since I'm always looking for small shows. I'm sure Ocean City is scheduled this time of the year do to least expensive time to rent a big location(?). Parking lots were full and people were waiting for people to leave so they could grab the parking space. I'm always looking on Facebook Marketplace looking to see if anyone is selling their pc. though I'm running out of room so I'm going to unload a few long boxes of fluff to local auction house. If I see any star wars, I will send you an email. If you want them, I would just send them for free lol. I don't collect star wars but there may be some from collections I've picked up.

We are working on it now, right out of the gate we were asked to record live at a show here on Staten Island Sunday January 19th. After that the list is getting longer and longer. And having the same issue with room, file cabinets are filled and now filling up short boxes of all different types. The curse of comic book collecting, we all run out of room at some point
