What if the growth is happening in FMCG companies which are not even listed in the share market. Recent trends show Britannia, HUL, Dabur etc are facing huge competition from newly formed companies concentrated in different parts of the country. Branding and packaging is easier recently and people don’t watch TV commercials anymore, so there is a large % of population especially younger people who are not influenced by advertisements of established brands.

I think the main factors causing slowdown/ pressure in FMCG segment is due to quick commerce segment gaining market share and increase in online portals offering alternate/substitute products. Another major factor in general is, as a country we are seeing increase in GDP, which is mainly contributed by increasing number of millionaires and rich class, rather than by the Middle class and below middle class population, who are required to have more disposable income to boost consumption and bring up more participating economy.
