Hi Mel. I agree that Dubai luxury purchases are actually more expensive even though Dubai doesn't have any sales tax. I did shop at Hermes (not the one in Dubai mall) when I went to Dubai in 2015. I bought shoes, scarfs, wallet, etc. and a 32 Kelly Etoupe Sellier at my first visit. :-)

We call the jacket on top of the dress a Abaya and the dress is called toab ! I'm not an Emirati but I am French Middle Eastern so we usually wear these twab= plural of toab or Kaftan as some call it in special occasions , weddings, special celebrations but it's not an every day dress for sure! Some middle eastern countries has special colors, patterns, even designs to represent the area/region where it come from!! Thank you for talking the prices! I’m based in Dubai. I shop when I travel to Europe and US because prices are so much higher here. People never believe it but it’s a huge difference. They ask me where to shop here. I always say shop before you come and only buy something if you can’t get it in your country xx

Also so true about the Dubai duty free customer service. I stopped shopping in boutique in Chanel here because I have had so many bad experiences. The duty free is amazing though 😍

Hi Mel Thanks for sharing another wonderful video. I just got back from Melbourne last weekend. I went in Hermes Chadstone as there was no queue at the door. I saw a beautiful off white little Picotin bag in the front display window. I told the SA I would like to purchase that. She said not for sale and told me she only has Evelyne Etoupe colour. I didn’t know what colour Etoupe is so she pointed out the same colour on one of the table. I said ok can I have a look as that’s the colour I wouldn’t mind anyway. She went in for about 5 mins and came back saying it’s no longer available. I thought what?? She told me earlier that they have it and now it’s no longer available?? So I ended up purchasing Poncho Coat Wrap Rocabar Leather Pompons Tassels. I asked her if she would call or sms me if she bags available in the near future. I told my sister about. She said because you failed the test!! As you didn’t know Hermes products well enough that’s why you didn’t deserve it. Is that true? Has this ever happened to anyone? Do you think the SA will ever SMS me if there is a bag available?
