Your intro reminded me of when I was a flight attendant.. we used to say to passengers "sir you're trash". They thought we'd be asking for for their trash but really we'd be calling them that. Secrets of a flight attendant. If you didn't know know you know. 🤣 we did what we had to do to get us through the days. Lol

I also LOVE the Beauty Pie body crème. It makes my skin look like it’s just naturally hydrated and smooth. I was also not a regular body moisturizer user, and I’m so excited to use it every morning!

Have you tried he Ouai dry shampoo? I thought the Living proof was amazing until I tried that. Has the added benefit of smelling exactly like the discontinued Benefit scent range. Ooops. Edit to add that I typed that before I heard C say Quai was not her smell!

Whew!!! I have batiste in my cabinet now- looks like the recall is voluntary from unilever and batiste isn’t a unilever product. Bruh, I can’t do baby powder… that shit is nasty in my hair.

The ingredient in dry shampoo that you’re referring to is called Benzene. Batiste wasnt one of the ones recalled. There were 5 brands recalled. Tigi, Dove, Suave, Nexxus and Tresemme.

Yes, batiste hasn’t been voluntarily recalled, but labs have found they tested high in benzene. I honestly don’t think any of the aerosol sprays are particularly “safe” so it’s a pick your battles kind of scenario.

9:50 yes this is why I don't trust any drugstore hair products. No accountability for these major corps and they've known about it since July 2021. Pretty much everything at the drugstore (makeup & hair) all made by Church & Dwight, Proctor & Gamble, or Unilever and when something has a recall almost everything is affected. I got an email from Amika saying they can reassure customers their dry shampoo doesn't contain benzene. 🙏

Go watch Dr. Dre’s video on the dry shampoo saga - it’s not as bad as the media is making it out to be. Just FYI

I watch her too, and while I don’t know what her undergrad was, mine was in chemistry. Companies don’t voluntarily recall much and waste that kind of money when it’s not a big deal. There’s reasons why there are strict regulations on chemicals specifically like benzene because we are already exposed to so much of it in our daily life. When they refer to the “safe” exposure levels, it’s measured in parts per million or billion, which is really an unfathomable idea almost😮 🤯 sorry I got a little excited about science. Honestly though, it should be taken seriously. And,they also recalled some deodorants too I saw. Wikipedia actually has a pretty decent page on benzene, worth the read for sure.
