I cannot attest to how correct he is! I highlighted my hair....with a cap, but I did it using all his tips and it took about 3 1/2 hours (my hair is dark brown and about to my mid back in length) and it turned out wonderful. I was sooooo happy with the results and I will ALWAYS listen to Hair Buddah when I'm doing my own hair!

As a Manic Panic user, they are a cruelty free, vegan, no chemical dye. Now I've not used their bleach, but no chemical screams "probably not going to work right". Now the dye itself, is very gloopy and can be easy to "massage" in, but you definitely risk missing spots that way. Heating it does pretty much nothing (there's no chemical reaction, heat is usually needed for anything with a developer, Manic Panic dyes do not use a developer); you can leave it on your hair for 3 days and your hair likely wouldn't fall out. I have left it on mine for an hour and another time for 5 hours, the hair will only soak up X amount of color, but it's unlikely it will actually damage your hair (I say unlikely because there's always that one person). Now because of this, you aren't going to get a long lasting vibrant color, it washes out faster, but is easier and safer to apply.

Thank you for your content! 1 - Used Color Opps. Heavy conditioned overnight. 2 - Next day bleached hair with 20 vol "Lime Crime" Unicorn box bleach from Sally's Beauty. I choose that box bleach because it was the only one with 20 vol. Left about 2 " of roots out. Hair was FLAMING DARK ORANGE! Left in only for 15 minutes didn't allow bleach to do its job out of fear from year year ago fiasco! 3 - Waited another 6 weeks, had friend help me with bleaching, sectioning, foil and avoiding roots again. Left on about 20 minutes and THANK goodness I did, hair in back was WHITE, rinsed back then continued with front. Put your favorite T18 on hair. Pale blonde with some soft pale brass. 4 - Was going to do again with friend, but I don't trust her anymore, nor myself. 5 - Went to professional and she said I didn't di a bad job, but definitely can be much better. While blonde I will continue with a professional, period. If I can't afford it then I won't be blond.

Virgin snow manic panic does nothing to your hair unless it's level 10, or you can use it to mix in with other manic panic colours to lighten them but you could also just use conditioner (so much cheaper and more quantity then a tiny jar of manic panic)

I was naturally blonde and used manic panic to dye my virgin hair purple in college. It didn't touch my roots at all. I used special effects dye next and it worked SO MUCH better. I was lucky that my hair was light enough not to need to bleach it first so it was still really healthy and long. I miss those days

I just found your channel and oh my some of the people I genuinely feel bad for their outcome. I have been bleaching my hair for the last 3 years at home. I only do this twice a year, in between the bleachings there is a lot of conditioning and a few cut off the dead end trims. Don't know if it's right or wrong but it's the way I do my hair because I am one that simply can not afford to go to a salon when dark roots appear. I live with the dark roots and don't worry too much about yellow roots, have yet to have brassy roots. I do not coat my hair with oil before bleaching nor do I use Quick Blue - guess I got a few things right 😄 😄

I enjoyed her personality, she's funny! At least she had somewhat realistic expectations compared to other fails. It can definitely be fixed with a touch up and thankfully her hair seems healthy still. Her hair wasn't light enough for the Snow toning product she used, but we won't know if it did anything because she used clarifying shampoo to wash it out immediately afterwards, which will strip deposited pigments. I've used Manic Panic in the past, Vampire Red on virgin level 6-7 (between light brown - dark blonde) hair. Well, it was pretty much permanent! At least the color was pretty and faded nicely. My favorite direct dyes are the Full Cover ones from Lime Crime. Their signature unicorn scent is amazing, it's super conditioning, and it's also vegan & cruelty free. Just like the Manic Panic, there's no chemicals so you can leave it in longer. I've tested 30 mins, 1 hr & 2 hrs, and definitely get more pigment and longer lasting color with 2 hr saturation (on clean, dry hair with no conditioner or styling products). They have frequent sales on their website too!

I have brown hair (not quite as dark as hers) and found a few manic panic shades that worked without me having to ruin my hair (because I would never bleach it) Lots of people noticed and complimented too (it was a plum/purple colour) so I really don't understand why she had to do this
@GrumpyOldFart2 Жыл бұрын
I hear you. A century ago a few times I used hair dye with a developer, but other than that I just use rinses (dye deposit). Going grey so first I use Clairol Beautiful Collection dark warm brown, then after that use Manic Panic Vampire Red. It gives it a nice deep burgundy/fuschia tint. No bleach, no peroxide, no ammonia. Just a color deposit. I’m also now eyeing the Overtone conditioner/color depositer. I miss the old days of cellophanes. Sebastian used to make a Wine that was beautiful, but that was discontinued waaaaay back a long time ago.

Ladies, before picking up that bleach and developer, learn about your hair type, undertones and pigments and what state your hair is actually in (dry, balanced, frizzy, wavy, healthy…. I could go on and on). If you are unsure, go to a salon and ASK these questions. Sometimes they charge between $10-$30 for a consultation, yes, it’s money you probably don’t want to spend, but it will help tremendously KNOWING about your hair. Think of it like this… you buy the developer, bleach or bleach cream… a purple toner (cause everyone uses it right?! 🤦🏼♀️) purple shampoo and you buy some box dye or some awesome colours you want to put on that lightened bleach hair of yours .. let’s say $40-$100 with of products depending where you live as costs vary. But the bleaching process goes wrong, because you didn’t know your hair or the proper bleaching process. You then think “toner” will fix it, but end up with patchy blonde/silver/yellow-orange or orange hair!!! When you realize toner didn’t work, panic sets in and you rush to purple shampoo and now your hair is the same nasty mess but with a lavender hue. You can ask yourself why a thousand times, but it boils down to you NOT knowing about your hair or the bleaching process. You then run to the salon and it can cost you anywhere from $200- $1500 to fix the mess you created(if you still HAVE hair to fix!) Ask yourself if it was worth the money to avoid the consult which could have avoided the mess you made of your hair and now have to pay $100’s of dollars to fix it. $100 for your products that are all wrong for your hair plus lack of knowledge or $130 (with consult) to have knowledge that will help you avoid lasting mistakes. Your choice…. 👍🏻🥰
