So I have two things to say: I have recently been obsessed with watching RV/School Bus/Van etc. conversions and this is my absolute favorite. I can’t put I to words how fresh and clean and happy your RV is and the way it is painted and decorated is just beautiful!!! And the second thing is how I recently watched this film called Surfwise and it is a true story and it’s actually where a family (from in the 60s) lived in an camper full time. But, they also had 9 kids too! I just thought that that was really cool.

Megan, here’s an idea for the U.S. map dilemma. Get another one & put it below the first one. Fill in the one on the bottom with the places you went in the first RV; use the one on the top for the new RV, and add the date below the state map with vinyl stickers/numbers. I hope that makes sense. I too would have had the same dilemma. Happy & safe travels. Blessings to all of you! ✌🏾❤️🏕

Every summer our packed up our Dodge van and later a Chevrolet Suburban and hooked on a tent trailer with a zip on room large enough to hold 8+ children. We were a family of 9-10 and sometimes more if friends came along. We traveled around the US visiting family and just exploring new places. Many of those trips included babies as young as 3 months old. The trailer had a bed on top that was revealed when you put up the tent attached to the trailer. Mom and Dad slept on that bed and generally the baby and the next youngest slept in portable crib and a camp cot in that part of the tent. The zip on room is where most of the children slept on camp cots that could be stacked like bunk beds and we each had sleeping bags that had awesome flannel blankets that could be removed depending on the weather. We used Colman lanterns for light and it hung off a tent pole. If it got cold at night we had a portable heater that worked amazingly for the tent. When there were little children we brought along a potty child so they didn’t have to traipse outside to the campground bathroom. We had setting up and taking down like science, everyone knew their jobs and you did it without complaining. To protect the floor of the tent we always put thick plastic on the ground before putting the tent together. Then we set up canopies that protected the area in front of the tent and the area where the picnic table was and the meal prep and cooking area. We brought a long metal table which was used to hold the Colman camp stove , the tub used for washing dishes and space for holding food and items needed for preparing the food. Again everyone helped out. We still had the same chores as we did at home. All campgrounds had a grill at each site and we could easily cook a decent meal between using it and the camp stove. We usually got a site that wasn’t too far from the campground restrooms and showers. A few places had camp stores which was great if you ran out of something, but a few of them also had the showers and you had to pay to use them. Whenever we had to use it we had to pair up with a sibling. Mom took the youngest girls and Dad took my brother who is 3 years older and I went with my sister that I also shared a bedroom with. The two eldest got to shower alone. Whenever we encountered bad weather Dad had extra canopies and heavy plastic that he attached to the sides of the canopies creating rooms that kept us dry and warm if needed. He even made a covered walkway between the tent and the picnic table area. There were a number of times it came in handy. Dad was an Electrical Engineer and he converted a boat refrigerator so that it could run off a separate battery he installed in the back of the vehicle. When the car was on it not only charged the car battery, but the refrigerator battery too. That way it never stopped working and surprisingly it could hold a lot of food and milk. We also had a cool for anything to big for the refrigerator. Dad built this large wooden box that stayed in the back next to the refrigerator and we kept everything you needed to prepare and eat a meal and then some. We called it our camp box. On top of the car we had a rooftop carrier where we put folding chairs and the table and anything else that would fit. Either side of the trailer had 2 large deep bins that held everything else we needed including our clothes. It didn’t matter where we went, but every Sunday Dad found a church for us to go to and it could be interesting getting everyone ready. The girls did each other ‘s hair and Mom double checked it before we loaded up the car. We are a Catholic family and back then girls still wore dresses and skirts and boys wore button down shirts and ties and nice trousers or at least you did in our family. One time my eldest sister and brother and a group of friends went hiking on the Appalachian trail and they had to call home to be rescued by the weather was terrible lots of rain and both my sister and her bff hadn’t broken in their hiking boots enough and could barely walk due to the blisters on their feet. So because we had planned to meet up with them Dad just packed us up early and went to get them and their friends went with us as we finished our planned trip. We had 15 people on that trip and boy did we get strange looks from anyone who saw us. Each child brought a pillow and a small bag with whatever books and toys that could fit inside it. My sister and I usually brought our wishnix (troll dolls) GI Joe type of mini tent and we created little houses and gathered acorns that we used for dishes and different things and what ever else we could find. Like you we went and explored the surrounding areas, but also had days spent at the campsite. Some were near rivers and other places we could swim and play in water. After the eldest 3 were no longer living at home Dad bought a pop up trailer that slept 8. It felt like such a upgrade from a tent, but not much changed other then where and how we slept. It had great storage space so it was easier to pack and find everything when needed. We used the refrigerator in it as backup for the one that was in the car and we sometimes used the fan and heater depending on the weather, but we never ate or cooked in the trailer because we went places where bear had been known to rip into tent and trailers trying to find food. So food stayed in the car when not being used and we cooked outside like before. We did use the water hookup so that we could wash our face and brush our teeth without taking everything up to the campground bathroom. If I ever win the lottery I would buy an RV an travel around the USA. Biggest trip my parents did was to travel across the country to see the Grand Canyon and Pueblo’s and up to Yellow Stone and up into Canada visiting with friends and family along the way and going to the Expo being held in Canada that year. I was around the age of 2 and only remember bits and pieces and what the family has repeated over the years. I loved camping and have missed it. I was also a Girl Scout and got to go camping with my troupe and our youth group which was exciting .

Suvdaa B. Traveling with your loved ones are great but 7 teenagers in a room with raging hormones giving them mood swings is not. As a teenager the thing I felt most beneficial is having my own space and i know most teenagers would feel suffocated. Even when you love someone you can’t be around them every waking moment.

That first bit of advice is so good for newbies. I'm in the UK so everything car and rv wise is smaller but advice still works. I drive a 9 seater van so we got a caravan that we could tow with what we already had. We now have an 05 6 berth caravan (23 feet long x 7 feet wide) that the 5 of us and the dog fit in brilliantly (with 2 teenagers).

8:01 Oh those stools. I know how to put them together. Me and a few other classmates put them together because we finished early. It was sorta fun, can’t lie. It’s easy though. I know all about those stools.

I enjoyed this so much!! You have done an amazing job and what an excellent example you're setting for your children! Its family and time and memories that you make as a family that is important. We've all heard the saying "I could live in a box as long as I'm with you." You're setting an excellent example as you show your children that it's not about things, its about making memories that you will always cherish, it's about this precious time that you're spending together in your wonderful and beautifully designed "box" that you have made a home. Your family is happy and if you all were already close, you're now growing even closer. How many children will be able to say that they had such an adventurous and happy childhood. You've made a beautiful home for a family of 11!!!! You did it ALL with Love and Family in mind. You're teaching an incredible lesson to your children and others. As I said of 2 other Bus/RV vids that I watched this weekend - my goal is a Tiny home but mannnn oh mannnn - How truly wonderful it has been to watch families emphasis even moreso the incredible strength of Love. You can do anything! EXCELLENT job!!! EXCELLENT job!!! 🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉

My parents drove us 4 kids to Nebraska from California and back every summer. I was 12, my sister was 10 and my other sister was 5 and my brother was 4, this was in the 90's, so no phones or tablets, but we had a tiny TV with a VCR. My little brother would only sit still if teenage mutant ninja turtles or power rangers was on , and my little sister only watched Disney movies. My other sister and I pretty much argued and I read a lot and watched a couple of my own movies if the kids were asleep. Now that I'm old enough to know how annoying we must've been, I don't know how my mom and step dad dealt with us. My step-dad was afraid of flying, despite being a massive human being and a cop. It took 3 days each way. I am so impressed you are able to do this with all your kids. Your trailer is amazing.

Love this! I watched ALL your renovation videos then went back and watched ALL your videos including the European countries. I was so touched by the sense of adventure you have in your lives and in your hearts , your "can do will do" attitude to get things done ((mam you do the work of several woman at once)) You're two very driven, hard working people and your lovely children are learning these vitally important life skills first hand from watching their parents. I loved watching all the renovation videos and eagerly awaited each new video upload....going back and rewatching older videos while waiting for a new upload. I've learned so much from you and your videos helped get me through a ve4y difficult and sick time in my life. I've started binge watching your videos again and want to thank you. I'm almost certain you will never see or read this as it's written on an old post. Maybe an email or your lastest video would have had a better chance of you reading this, but this just happened to be where it started. Your family is truly blessed and you mam have a beautiful soul. You are certainly a Proverbs 31 woman. God bless your family and keep you all safe. Happy trails be it on the road, your daily life at home or somewhere in between. 🙏❤️🙏😃🙏

I wish these RV companies would take some design inspiration from all these traveling you-tubers. I'll never understand why they design an RV with dark colors, bright colors make the space feel bigger. every RV I've seen is dark wood, dark furniture, dark walls, like come on, I know you could probably customize it but seriously they would sell so many more if they would re-imagine their color palette.
