I did Japanese permanent hair straightening, aka thermal reconditioning, on my Indian hair! I have a mix of curly, wavy hair and I was very tired of frizzy, unmanageable hair that never looked right.
Japanese permanent hair straightening uses a chemical to break apart the bonds that cause curls/waves in your hair. The stylist then straightens the hair with an iron, and then reseals the bonds, permanently locking your hair into that new shape. Yes, it's PERMANENT.
This salon in particular also adds a treatment to the hair before resealing it to keep it as moisturized, soft, and silky as possible.
Please be careful doing this however if your hair is damaged. I don't color my hair so I didn't have to worry about that. But definitely do a consultation first with a specialist and let them decide if your hair is healthy.
