I've gotten to the point where if there's a 9 pan eyeshadow and there's at least one eyeshadow I know I will not use, I will not buy the eyeshadows. The same is true for highlighters, blushes and lipsticks. I've gotten away from gift sets and I've started buying singles. Going on to Make Up Geeks website the other day and being able to build my own palette seems to be more my speed these days. They have a green called Dirty Martini that is absolutely stunning to me. The look may not be new but I like a bronzer in the crease, a matte chocolate brown on the movable lid and a turquoise blue on the bottom lash line. Just a one horse Rodeo here folks. Good for you Beverly Collins. I've been doing WetnWild singles or any other brand. If the item does not perform well it gets returned. I'm never ever stuck with makeup, skincare or all the other stuff that I don't like. I can't help but hit pan, that's a norm for me. Mary Kay make your own palettes also.

Anyone else not so impressed with the Holiday Releases this year & last year? In 2017 I couldn't decide what I absolutely needed so much called to me, and last year there was really nothing I was like YES, I need that... I am feeling the same way this year.... In 2017 Becca's Apres Ski pallettes were awesome, there seems to be nothing like that coming out from any company.

Here's a little irony. At Bergdorf Goodman Estee Lauder counter...David Aiken..the hourglass ambient lighting pallette is the least expensive item they sell. But, it is the most expensive pallette for drugstore and department store, most coveted, truly overall fabulous quality, make my face great look it's. Ok. Happy Saturday! Lynn

I'm actually really excited for the hourglass six pan face palette! I got one for Christmas two years ago and I have used it almost every day ever since. I love that when I travel or need to bring my makeup somewhere I can throw it in my makeup bag and have everything that I need. Not to mention, every powder in that palette is amazing! I have completely used up the bronzer and have almost used up the blush.

90% of the xmas sets are always less quality then their normal launches and the packaging usually irks me where I use it maybe once and never again. Plus most the times the xmas color schemes aren't practical, fall colors/spring/summer colors can all be versatile but most xmas Pallets look like colors my Mom would of owned.

The Buttered Rum pallete works so well. I think it is one of the best performing. I bought the Tutti Frutti set with the three cards at Ulta. I said I would never buy the cardboard packaging Christmas sets again. It is beautiful. The bronzer , blushes and shadows are so beautiful. The shadows are so nice and festive. You would love the plums. The Banana bread theme got me. I used the plums with the pink mattes.

That Smashbox Cover Shot trio would be perfect for my fair skin. Yes, that very pale “bronzer” shade would be a great bronzer on me! Then you’ve got one, very boring but very work appropriate neutrals, golds and browns palette and then that cool toned palette! I’ve been waiting for cool toned neutrals to come back for years, plus I love wearing purple shadow. This palette trio is definitely going on my Christmas list....plus the La Neige holiday set because my lips always need more moisture.

I for one am happy to finally, finally see a set that incorporates a bronzer for fair people! Yes point taken - its too light for most skin tones. On the other hand, those of us who require that light from a bronzer are pinned out of 95% of bronzers so it wouldn’t kill the medium toned people to take one for the team. And no , when you’re this fair you cannot make a dark or warm / orangey bronzer work by using a light hand. I’ll be checking it out!

There are two colors in with the champagne highlighter that looks like they would be good bronzers. It's true that they are not matte and aren't deep colors, but I believe they would work for bronzers. And then there's the blush and the highlighter. And all can be used for eyeshadows.

The only thing is the gingerbread pallet does the same thing with the pop of color thing with the hot pink. The newer pallet does go more true to spices in my opinion. But this is what I love about makeup is so dependent on ones wants and needs ❤️

I used to buy so many holiday sets, but the last few years I’ve scaled way back as I found I hated the bulkiness of them and I wasn’t using them. Of what you’ve shown so far the only thing I want is the small too faced palette. I like the look of the bigger Tarte palette you didn’t pick up but I have SO many palettes I really don’t need more. And I don’t tend to love Tarte shadows. If I’m going to buy another palette I’ll probably go for a different brand. I’ll save my money and see what others come out with.

Agree and while I don’t like that Tarte incorporates bonuses right into their palettes making them thick and bulky, at least they have a beautiful and consistent formula. Whereas too faced, while cutesy, are all over the place formula wise. For those of us who have to order online, we have no idea is the formula is garbage or gorgeous in each release. Which the holiday ones tend to be inferior.

Too Faced does do great Holiday packaging but every eyeshadow palette looked exactly the same (except those 3 small palettes). But I can't believe that I'm the most interested in the Tarte set. I love the simple packaging and could see using those 3 sets for face and simple shadow looks for work.

Hey Em, I also bought the Too Faced lip glosses but I will be returning them because I found them to be gritty and not very practical on an everyday basis. A better option is the Tarte ornament lip gloss set...they’re way more comfortable and not as glittery. Thank you for doing this awesome video!
