He had a brief run with Impact Wrestling with Grado and Katerina Waters, not WWE. NXT UK didn't start running at that point in time, iirc. He signed with IW so he could still work some indy dates and WWE wouldn't have allowed that. Edit: The WCPW/Defiant wrestlers that went to WWE, NXT, or NXT UK are Kenny Williams, Amir Jordan, The Coffey Brothers, El Ligero, Travis Banks, British Strong Style, Primate, Nixon Newell/Tegan Nox, Dave Mastiff, Zack Gibson, Joseph Conners, Kay Lee Ray, Viper/Piper Niven, Johnny Moss (as a Performance Center coach/Producer), Big Damo/Killian Dain, Kimber Lee/Abbey Laith, Noam Dar, & WALTER.
