In case anyone didn't know (I definitely did not) the way to use a cleansing balm is to first use it on your face dry, add some water to emulsify it, then take a little more of the balm and continue to cleanse your makeup before washing it off. A sales associate at a Korean skincare store told me to do it this way and I feel like it makes the balm less residue-y on my face after 😄

As an esthetician I'm so happy you're being more diligent about sunscreen! Yes, it helps w premature aging, but the real importance is preventing skin cancer. As a huge fan of K and J beauty SPF myself, I just want to warn people that these sunscreens are very effective, but more in a day to day way, most are not meant for the beach or pool bc most are not water/sweat resistant, which is why they feel so light and non sunscreen-y. If you're going to be outside playing sports or lounging poolside, please wear a water resistant, oil free spf of 50-70 formulated for the face and reapply every 2 hrs.

The banila co cleansing balm has been my go to for years. I have sensitive eyes and it doesn't bother me. Also Canmake released a mermaid sunscreen with a green tint and I really like it.

I'm so glad you picked up the Canmake Mermaid Skin sunscreen to try- it's my holy grail for cooler weather! It's not waterproof, so don't rely on it if you're going to be sweating. But for everyday use under makeup it's perfect! US made sunscreens just can't compare to J beauty and K beauty ones, lol.

The cleansing balm from Heimish is my favorite, it doesn't burn my eyes or give me "blurry eyes", but removes waterproof and heavy foundation. I have tried like ALL of the balms and Heimish is *the* best, especially for the price point, imo.

The Beauty of Joseon Cleansing Balm is excellent as well. No irritation, burning or scent. It’s like $14 for 100 ml. My favorite part of the packaging is the flip top on the jar. So nice to use!

I purchased the Joseon sunscreen through Lab Muffins recommendation and it's been almost a month. I live in Florida, so far so good. Sits nicely under my makeup. Doesn't make me oily throughout the day. And seems to keep me well protected from the sun.👍🏼

The Banila Co. cleansing balm dissolves EVERYTHING! And I don’t even use the original…I use the green for acne and it still doesn’t burn my eyes. It’s one of my favorite products.

Banila Co cleansing balm is a holy grail for me! I’ve been buying it non-stop for a couple of years. My old bottles of micellar water have been gathering dust ever since because this stuff removes everything. Last year my male eye doctor complimented me on how clean my eyelids are (according to him, most of his female patients have some makeup debris built up under their eyelids), and we had an unexpected conversation about cleansing balm!

Yesstyle is an amazing site, but it can be like falling down the rabbit hole so recommendations are always great. The mermaid sunscreen is amazing I’ve bought probably 8 tubes, also a great price. Asian sunscreens are just leaps and bounds better than American. I don’t get burning eyes, they’re always cosmetically more elegant and as you mentioned not the smell of American sunscreens.

K-Beauty sunscreen is the total best. Absolutely no sun will get through to age your skin. I've traveled to California and to Florida and using Dr. G's sunscreen, my skin showed absolutely no change in color/no tanning or redness at all. Koreans know how to stay looking young. Also there's no weird smell and it doesn't sting my eyes. Highly recommend!

That is the best cleansing balm. Period. I've tried a ton. HEIMISH one is good too. My favorite K beauty sunscreen is the Etude sunprize mild airy finish spf 50. It's so light and mildly oily controlling and has that skincare feel.

i have the klavuu shadow in glam brown and all of the other shades, and they’re all gorgeous, but glam brown is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!! clio makes some of the prettiest highlighters, and i definitely have to try that one. i definitely have to try the unleashia lip products, nature republic crayons, and laka lip products. 💕💕💕

C,inique Take the Day Off cleansing balm is my go to. It has no fragrance, never burns my eyes & rinses clean. As a makeup remover or gentle cleanser it is very non irritating.

Yes the classic is still a good one, I like the glow recipe one as well but I end up back with TTDO usually. Their lids, lashes, lips makeup remover is one of my favourites too as it takes away staining.

My top recommendation is the iunik calendula cleansing oil. IT'S PERFECT. It melts makeup and washes away without leaving a trace and it's dirt cheap compared to western alternatives. I loved when I had combo oily skin, I love it now with dry skin. A must have, nothing else I've tried compares

Wow! I'm surprised how much of the K-beauty aesthetic came through in your look from using these products. Even though the application was a little more American and glamorous, you're looking super on-trend, Lauren! So pretty! 🥰 BTW, as you noticed with the Laka fruity tints, the tinted glosses being newly released on the Korean market have a gel/jelly/serum-like texture which are milkier when first applied. After a minute or two, the tint settles close to the lips like a stain and a layer of clear gloss rises to the top. Some formulas are more extreme with the dual layer separation, and these are somewhat transfer-proof, as it's only the clear gloss and not the color that comes off on contact. I have the Laka tint in 110 Soda, which applies as a terrifying strawberry milk, but clarifies and deepens into a perfectly wearable medium pink.

Inky list's oat cleansing balm is great. No burning, squeezy tube so no need to dif your fingers in and it will last a long tims since you need very little. You do have to shaks it up once in a while so it doesn't separate but I've just developed a habit of shaking it a bit before every use

Not a cleansing balm, but my absolute favourite product for removing makeup is the Hadalabo Gokujun cleansing oil. I've been using it for years because it's affordable, melts off makeup and doesn't burn my eyes or irritate my skin. I just rub it on dry skin, add some water to emulsify and rinse it off 😊.

Try mixing the Missha with your foundation too - especially if you want a lighter foundation day. It can make your foundation into a tinted moisturiser. I use it all the time. (Makes it last all year!)

Great haul! I love the Glow Recipe Papaya cleansing balm and of course the green clean by Farmacy . I have tried the Zero and I do like it but not a love :) also I love the new Glow Recipe sunscreen!! It is a little pricey but really glowy and hydrating but not overly dewy greasy 🤣

I have super sensitive eyes too (i have to use a separate sunscreen around my eye area because the only sunscreen that doesn’t sting my eyes is super expensive). The Banila Co cleansing balm was alright but it still stung if I had to use a lot to remove harder things like lash glue. I don’t have any KBeauty favs but the Farmacy one and the Elf one are the only ones which play nice with my eyes but still do an excellent job at removing makeup.

Regarding Unleashia, *if* you appreciate an incredibly micro thin eyebrow pencil, they have the best one. In the lime green packaging, twist up. Can definitely draw hair-like stroke (but can’t replace the Nyx brush pen for brow hair drawing).

CANMAKE is a Japanese brand but I prefer Beauty of Joseon’s sunscreen anyway. Most Japanese sunscreens that I’ve tried have alcohol and fragrance in them which I’m not a fan of. I actually completely finished the BoJ SPF about a week ago and already miss it but I’m using a different one right now and have to go through a couple more before I can repurchase it 😅

I already have somebody wood from phlur and it was sitting next to tangerine boy so I layered both while at the store… my god it’s going to be my summer scent all summer. Call if you like Colourpop and you’re looking for the drugstore price I would recommend their cleansing oil instead of the balm I find that it doesn’t strip your skin or leave a residue, but it’s still really effective at getting off make up

I don't like cleansing balms because my eyes burn so I use a cleansing oil but some burn my eyes too. I love the clarins cleansing oil and peach and lilly cleansing oil. Neither burn nor do they leave an oily residue.

vaseline petroleum jelly and/or straight cold pressed, unrefined coconut oil for eye makeup remover. Cheap and works amazing:)
