@Machodave20203 жыл бұрын
I'm still more for "normal" model railroading, but Lego model railroading looks cool. Especially because you can do pretty much all the same things you do with normal model railroading, but it's a lot more child and beginner friendly. And you can still be a professional model railroader using this.

Im working on a mustafar themed jawa sandcrawler right now, but later this summer I'm going to build the podrace from episode one with Lego trains. I'll be building the podracers to minifigure scale, with the train parts hidden under tan plates and tiles, with clear bricks holding up the racers as they go in loops

I'm wondering how they got LEGO trains to go so fast? I know the normal Power Functions train motor isn't capable of such speed, and IDK how much you can gear up the other motors while still maintaining enough torque.
@naidanac15 жыл бұрын
A lot of the 8 wide builds feature power functions M,L and XL motors built into the engines, often two of them, and geared to the wheels. Here's some pics: i.imgur.com/hD3Gx1N.jpg i.imgur.com/jzARIq7.jpg

Is that entire railway yard MILS and LGMS compliant? I couldn’t tell if there were any transition modules involved. It was briefly mentioned that the yard is built on base plate.

@FanboyReviews1979 I'm unaware of anyone specifically in Texarkana - my family is from there but I'm in Houston. However there are two clubs nearby- ARKLUG which do events around Central Arkansas and Oklahoma, and DFWLUG, which is by Dallas and Fort Worth. My club, Texas Brick Railroad is technically state-wide, but were mostly in Houston and Austin.
