You can buy mare magic aka just straight raspberry leaf from pacific botanicals for so much cheaper , if you buy 5 lbs at once it’s 11.55 a pound which is that same as the big bag of mare magic but the big bag mare magic is like 2lbs for 45/50 bucks vs getting the dried exact same ingredient raspberry leaf from pacific botanicals you get 5 lbs for the same 45/50 bucks!!! Like such a huge way to save money(I have all made and switching has saved me hundreds of dollars already!) and I just keep one big bag of mare magic and refill it from the five lbs so it’s recognizable

Horse_lover12 it's ok. I didn't get my first peice of real tack until 2 years into riding full time ever day. honestly you don't need that stuff if you're new. what I can tell you is that you have to be very patient. being an equestrian is NOT A cheap sport and all my fellow equine community will agree. you'll get there. for now stick to using your trainer's tack and slowly start to buy the things your trainer recommends for you. if you ever get a horse (which will be many many MAAAAANY years if your smart) you can start to buy tack full time. depending on how young you are (which going by your account around 9-13) , you're going to HAVE to get a job that pays well as soon as you turn 16, because like I said, equine is not cheap. Yes this is absolutely true! It's ideal to borrow tack at first to figure out what you like and what works best for your horse if you have one. If you don't have a horse and just take lessons, you really don't need any tack. I know some people who lesson and like to buy their own tack and thats ok too as long as you have your trainer's permission. Also, if you don't have a horse and would like to start collecting tack, I'd suggest getting things that aren't size specific like grooming things, maybe some saddle pads, buckets, hay nets, etc. I bought a lot of used tack when I started out and as I got older and was able to buy my own tack, I'd buy the best quality I could afford because good quality tack will save you money in the long run and is generally more reliable. Buying tack and equipment is something that takes YEARS to acquire. Iv'e been collecting everything I have for 18 years now! I've had to buy 90% of the things I own with my own money so I naturally take very good care of all my tack and equipment. I even bought the shed I keep my tack in!
