@genew34525 ай бұрын
Anno 1836 Mod kinda does this by making a large percent of ingame resources undiscovered at start of game and then appear during the course of the game, so unless you have the location of resources on the map memorizes, it will feel more randomized in terms of where resources are located.

Vassalization 3 - enact Greener Grass campaigns in low population vassal territories to encourage migration to get workers in mining industries perhaps??
@alexandruscarlat80265 ай бұрын
Or you can also get foreign investment 3 and construct buildings that provide resources your power block's market lacks and then boost said resources with a decree. This gets even better if your subjects have states with OP modifiers as that means you get to stack those on top. You need foreign investment 3 because it allows you to invest in basically all the other members and boosts your leverage so you can keep them more easily in your power block. You also have to get market unification since otherwise you can't have a customs union(unless trade league but in that case it's unlikely you will go vasalisation) it s extra MAPI will further boost the buildings you just built in your subjects which should make them not only a good way to acquire resources that you desperately need but to also be very profitable. Since vasalisation 3 increases income from subjects you will get even more cash.
@lazykatie420695 ай бұрын
yeah that's what I was thinking, get people to move to states in subjects where you want people working

Re the External Trade I bureaucracy cost, I *think* it means that if you choose it as say UK trade block, if you form a trade treaty with say a rival France trade block, having it will reduce the cost of bureaucracy between the British block and the French block. The French block does not become integrated with the British block, but the cost of trade is lowered between the two blocks. Think say a trade deal between USA and EU today, USA would not become member of EU but there likely would be lowered costs to trade negotiated in the deal.

Also, oh man I'm rubbing my hands together planning a ideological union as the USA, have internal trade, have defensive coordination (Monroe doctrine), creative legislature, and vassalization. I'll create republics in the americas, preferably puppets but w/e, also making puppet republics in Africa, and I'll focus on building up their raw good extraction, while I focus on creating all the finished goods for them. Defensive may be irrelevant if many of these guys are vassals, but would be good if I want to ride low infamy. It occurs to me that this is just larping a more aggressive USA, that actually cares about changing the laws in the nations in the sphere, so they have to trade with it, rather than just proccing revs.

Speaking of interests, I think a neat video idea could be like an interest tier list that's kind of like the tech tier lists where you rank the strategic regions based on how likely you are to prioritize getting an interest in that region. Far as I can tell the best regions to prioritize are ones with discoverable resources (i.e. gold, rubber, oil) and ones where GPs tend to get involved in plays in frequently

I actually have notes for this video topic already! I just don't know if it plays better going over ever SR or doing a top ten. I suppose a tier list is good, but I have no idea how I'd get images for such a tier list without it taking a long time to set up.

The way i’ve been thinking about the authority bonus through subjects goes like this. You get the bonus authority which you might want to use as edicts in their land on states that you might own a lot of buildings in. Like encourage resource industry in one of their states with a lot of rubber or oil that you are trying to exploit. Not only would your market benefit from the extra goods but your pops should also be making more money from their investment as the buildings are making more money.
@generalistgaming5 ай бұрын
That makes sense. Being able to spam a lot of decrees in your states seems decent enough too, we just haven't been able to do that in the past except for the patch where the UK had the op PB bonus

A "Party Whip" is a party official who runs around the Capitol and makes sure that all the members of the party vote for the party line. An example: the Purple party wants to repeal the minimum wage. The party ran on repealing the minimum wage, but a few of the members of the party are not showing up to vote or are refusing to vote for personal reasons. The party whip goes to them and does everything they can to ensure that those members show up and vote with the party. I would assume in the game the Party Whip modifier will have something to do with conformity to the leaders ideology. Perhaps you can assign a character to a bloc member to make their ideology shift closer to yours?

Am I the only one who sees balancing issues and balance inequalities between the "identities"? One of the identities has block cohesion dependent on GDP. Another has it dependent on Prestige, but Prestige in turn is also dependent on GDP! So in one case cohesion is derived from a base metric of buildings' profitability, in the other case - from a metric derivative of the base metric. Even at first glance this already looks like shoehorning the player into the "raise GDP and you win" playstyle, which was one main problem that the SoI expansion was intended to address. I wonder if anyone even pauses to think about those things. Judging from the forums, the answer is no.

I’ll be honest I think you’re underestimating the ideological union bonuses a bit. Decreasing stall chance and decreasing strength of opposing movements is nutty. Sure you can try and cheese revolutions but I think that’s lame and is probably going to be patched out and even if it isn’t its not 100% reliable and it’s better if you can pass laws without relying on it (I also think its an unfun play pattern) And ideological truth can be taken together with vassalization its not one or the other. I also think for the decrees in your subject lands part, the thing that’s most useful for is boosting resource production if your subject has a state with a ton of resources. Like if Sindh is my subject I’m using the resource throughput decree on that state the increased sulfur production is probably worth it for me, especially if I’ve invested money into it directly through foreign investment.
