Huge News With MSC | Episode 37

Finished halloween cruise on seashore. Mid ship port side balcony deck 14. Something strange banging for days. Middle of night investigated to find coming from other side of wall across hall. Every 2 1/2 minutes. Whooosh, wait for it, BANG! Wasnt elevator wall. It was suggested pool equipment? Result was we were upgraded to grand suite at very front of ship. Huge cabin, two rooms, walk through closet to bathroom suite. Two bottles of bubbly, plates of strawberries and treats. Wow have i been missing out. Thank you msc for the exemplary treatment. So glad you are back.

We would love some new ports for MSC, we don’t do anything less than 7 night cruises…. so this will be perfect! As for Alaska, we would only go there if MSC goes there.

Wow. So much to unpack from this Episode. First and foremost, Melana and I have missed the BEJEZUS outta you guys! We are glad you are all safe, and sound, and we are devastated at the destruction that Asheville sustained. We were planning a trip this next year there to do the Foodie Experience too. 😔 The Alaska Cruise has us really excited. Alaska is on my Bucket List and I originally thinking HAL but, now I am thinking definitely MSC. (TTT Alaskan Group Cruise??!! 🤯) The Blue Diamond Level... First, doesn't it make you think that MSC is saying "If you reach this level you are definitely nuts, Blue Diamond NUTS!!"??? No one thought of that...? Just me? 😂 In all honesty, Melana is Diamond and I will be after the Inaugural WA Cruise and that is good enough for us. All the additional perks that we would get with the Tasty Nut Level, we would get with the YC anyway. 😎 Count me as the third Black Diamond Super Fun Time Level! 🥸 Chris, you need to put a bright light on that Mute Button, 😂 But we could still hear you through Beth's Mic okay, just a bit echo-y. Sooo so happy to see you back! 😊 I'm also very excited about the Alaska announcement. We would love to go to Alaska.. let's see how that could work - very expensive to fly to the west coast from central europe. Cool, that msc improved the voyager club. Seems more structured but i am worried, that it's not longer possible to collect points on board the ship.. found that - of course in tiny tiny letters 🤪- at the very end (think point 6) of the terms and conditions.

❤️❤️ agree… airfare is what has kept us from doing Alaska for many years. We fly out of a small airport so price and flight options are not great. Good to know, I haven’t gone through all the details yet… seems like I need an empty afternoon for that 😂😂😂

On my local (Swedish) site I don’t really remember seeing many if any short cruises in the Mediterranean ever. You can still get on in almost any port (you just need to stay for seven nights) so no big sail away party but also no zero count and a loss less embarkation chaos. I know they did super short teasers from Southampton but that was off season.

So good to see you back, the water mains must have taken a real big hit. I love you talking a lot because it is the real you not from a script. I would like some smaller to midsized new MSC ships to go to unique ports of call, especially with ports limiting cruisers allowed per day. And new ships satisfy their environmental concerns

So the 36” main got washed out and the backup line went too. Most of the issues is that our reservoir got contaminated so it will be another month or 2 for drinkable water.

Love the Magnifica, but there isn't good outdoor seating, imo. If the Poezsia is the same, I hope they improve that before Alaska voyages. Need to be able to spend time outside there comfortably!

Hey that is a great point. There is a nice seating area outside the buffet but that is not enough. It does have wonderfully large windows throughout but it will be interesting to see if they make changes

I'd rather pay more for Cabo Rojo then Nassau again, and again, and again with 5 other mega ships there at the same time. Wouldn't want embark/disembark, muster drill announcements, and suitcases in the halls every day. No sailaway anticipation or cruise ending blues everyone can share in.

Personally I wouldn't be interested in cruising to Alaska, I like the hotter destinations and I'm also the kind of cruiser who thinks of the ship itself as the destination 😅 If I get to see a cool port that's just a bonus 😊

We can understand that, especially now that we live in a cooler part of the country, a warm Caribbean cruise is appealing 😊 The ship is always the destination for us, World America… we might not even get off except Ocean Cay… always get off at OC 🎉🎉

Browsing far too many YC groups on facebook It sort of feels like MSC are trying to shift their current YC clientel to Explora and almost re-launcing YC for a wider audience (people claiming YC getting watered down across the fleet, ALL the influencers getting free YC trips, blue diamond cluttering the spaces, world class having a huge amount of YC cabins etc etc). Am I just overinterpreting things or do you see this tendency?

Hey there… you might be right on some things. I have to be careful watching too much social media as I just don’t know if it is all true. I think it is a natural progression to end up on Explora for some people. We happen to love the ability to have fun throughout the entire ship so it wouldn’t be for us. You are the second person to say influencers are getting free trips, unfortunately we don’t know about that and pay our own way. It is something that cruise lines will do even though I don’t think they need to… word of mouth is enough. I just saw a post today from a blue diamond member and they said they were only 1 of 2 boarding so I think that won’t water YC down, they will be few and far between. We are hoping for the best for WA and YC. Hoping it doesn’t lose its magic but time will tell
