Hi Travis, the vallisneria as well as the shape of the hardscape tend to shade parts of the aquarium, turning them into mysterious cavish elements; but hey, we need a bit of mystery in our underwater planted gardens, don't we?

Fluorescent lighting? Still the best in my opinion. Grows plants,not algae. When will Tropica do a vid on a Sword that most don't even know the latin name..just that it has huge round and pleated leaves that tend to lay flat? Glossy also. Seen it in Asian vids..no answer when I asked the name. Its very expensive I gather.

@@TropicaAquariumPlants The closest I've found to it is on Hans aquatic.com And he sells its as E. I guazo 2009. That tiny plant in the photo -if it's the same plant- becomes very Hosta like underwater. Last year a vid in Asian,I came across had three of these in a 150 gallon or so aquarium and they were huge,low,and glossy green. The gentleman had means as the whole vid was top of the line everything including big red Arowana in his giant fish show tank. But anyways a Echinodorus like that would be a huge seller for Tropica if propagated by tissue culture or emersed and seed. I would buy one..but not at the present $100+!

@@keeseggens7300 I guess I answered my own question-ha. The thing is,I saw the mature plant( with no ID then) long before I saw photos of tiny versions. It wasn't until recently I even saw Han's photo of it,still wasn't sure if that was the same plant. Beautiful rich green,pleated, and glossy- not like any other Echinodorus.
