Ds are very readily available to buy , never realy saw the point of ds on vita? I did try it once as a curiousity and saw how hard it struggled and considered it a write off and moved on.

In my opinion creating a good DS emulator is possible. The old Samsung Galaxy S3 can handle Drastic without any issues. And this phone is much older than Vita. A couple of updates and fixes could bring a perfect DS emulator for Vita

Bro, S3 has 1gb RAM and a quad core CPU clocked at 1.5ghz, that's 3 times more powerful than Vita. of course Drastic runs on even weaker phones than S3 as long as NEON is supported, I don't know if Vita supports NEON, though

I still could love a finished game of Donut County... I love that little oddball indie game. The Vita version only works for the first handful of levels. I wish it would be completed... so I don't have to keep playing those same few levels over and over. heh ;-)

It's much inferior, and I doubt you can upscale. Gepatch works with few games flawlessly on adrenaline check that out

All of this is pretty cool but I don't really see the point of a Vita in 2024 when you can just get Chinese handhelds for $100-$200 and emulate pretty much everything up to PS2/Xbox/3DS and even play some indies with port master or whatever it was called

Chinese handhelds of said price range are absoluely not doing xbox, and they can't play 'pretty much everything' from the PS2 and 3DS libraries. By far not. You would have to go for something like an Odin2 to reach the PS2 and 3DS goal. Or at least a RP4pro, if you know how / want to tinker with emulator settings. Xbox is out of discussion atm, you need a pc handheld for that. Also the emulation of PS Vita is not a thing on 100 dollar handhelds. The good ones do up to PS1/DC/N64, and some (!) PSP.

@@ZealousChuck I wish you owned Orcs and Elves and did a pure Dump with a jailbroken 3DS because the game FINALLY can load up and start playing but some textures are broken. the textbox in the game also doesn't have any text but after having so many playthroughs I know what's going on since it's that kind of classic Dungeon games I enjoy. the performance though is a mixed bag. so it does RUN but the emulator would need more improving. currently idk how to report this to the dev(s). just lmk if you'd like to do some video recording of this.

@@ZealousChuck also so far Orcs and elves (DS) is best played on a phone or whenever DS emulation is finally great on the Vita because so far no emulator on PC or tohers I know of have REALLY properly otf upscaled the textures where the small res and a large res would be as clean.
