I played a double measured time and mindframe just gave about the losing distance away wondering. Even when ortiz switched hands he didnt run straight. Sierra leone unlucky but all credit to winner of that pace to keep that up is fantastic. Not even mindframe could get to the lead. Congrats to the winners.

Dornach did same in Remsen. Contested Fast Pace and won while hitting the rail and getting passed. Now 17-1

Dornoch, with 17-1 odds, won the 156th running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, beating a handful of contenders widely believed to have a greater chance of winning. “It was perfect,” jockey Luis Saez (age 32, born in Panama) said of Dornoch's run to fend off Mindframe (7-2 odds). Trainer Danny Gargan got his first victory in a Triple Crown race. This year's Belmont Stakes was raced at Saratoga and run at 1.25 miles instead of the traditional 1.5 miles because of renovations at Belmont Racetrack. That should be notable for handicapping since typically for the Belmont it's important to look at horses that can go the distance.

@asmrcritique6565 if you watch the replay he was fine rounding the corner it was mid stretch he lugged out when irad hit him left handed and when irad corrected him with crop hitting him right he came back to dornoch and made it close I still say if he maintained a straight path he wins. Wonder where pletcher runs him next

Mindframe went off stride, to give a wave effect down the stretch towards finish line ....I would question the jockey about this move .... Rewatch the tape.....They paid $600,000 for this colt and because of Fierceness droping out,this colt had his chance.....He has only made $88,000 to date prior to the Belmont Stakes, put forth a great show......Problems with the others may have been cause from stress and big strom the day before .... Some horses don't care for weather of this magnitude..... Training for all foreseen events including weather, is part of a good trainer......

At 1:34 Sierra Leone drops to last and then just blasts past the field, gets bumped by Protective around 1:45 and still finished 3rd. Between that and the race being 1/4 mi shorter than normal, I would not be willing to bet against him had he had a clean run and the traditional length of the race, since he was still gaining ground at the wire. I don't think the Wilson Chute hurt any of the come from behind horses.

SIERRA LONE just can’t catch a break . This is the problem when you love deep closers . The race has to be timed so perfect . He is clearly the best 3 year old with Forever young . But he not getting a clean trips 😩😫 it’s so frustrating. There’s no way he finishes the year without winning a G1 classic distant race
