@lewisbale1 Yep, many Midwest winters were bitterly cold. I remember, when I was a kid (1960s), one time it was so cold that for some reason, the heat tapes weren't sufficient. Dad connected his arc welder leads to the pipes. That did the trick. Of course, that wouldn't work on plastic pipes.

The lines to that sink lay on the chloroplast. Really thin always freezes first. Where the lines come up under that sink come up in a vertical box, you can use you hair blower to direct warm air down the box and thaw it out.

I live in Utah and have gone hunting up near where you stayed. It's a beautiful area! Even in October it can get in the low teens at nights at that high altitude. I may have missed it, but the other issue with camping in such high elevation is keeping the furnace, stove, fridge lit and the generator struggles to operate properly due to such thin air. I had a buddy that smoked and he couldn't even get his lighter to work or cig lit. (adding another day or two on his life) 😀. Safe travels!
@BrokenDreamsReborn

We love this area! We did not have any problems with the furnace or the stove. The generator worked great when we used it and our fridge is a 12V conversion, so it did well too. That is crazy about the lighter not working but now that you mentioned that, Matthew had trouble using the lighter to light our campfires and it was a brand new lighter too. We were baffled that it did not work! Glad your friend got a day or 2 added to his life! Thanks for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew
