As an influencer who also works with Shein, I also agree Shein could've handled this much better but I think people also forget that brands like H&M and Zara have had very similar controversies in the past and people still shop there as well. They did apologize and are saying they are hiring someone on to make sure this doesn't happen again, so as long as they do make that change I am willing to give them a second chance. That cropped graphic tee is so cool I haven't seen that in all my shopping on their site! I love all the stuff you picked you have such a great style! I would love if you would check out my most recent Shein haul, I do them super often as well

I really loved this comment and it expressed how I have been feeling perfectly. Cutting fast fashion is hard and it’s tough to see people immediately want to cut brands like SheIn and forever 21 when expensive sites like urban and Zara are ALSO fast fashion. McKenzie Morgan yes!! many people can only afford fast fashion or thrifting (and usually you can get tops cheaper at shein/ROMWE than at goodwill!) not to mention it’s so hard to find brands that haven’t had controversy at this point. urban sold shirts encouraging eating disorders among other things!

I absolutely love your introduction, very well said. They did mentioned they would hire someone in the team to prevent that issue happening again.. I'm willing to give them a second chance, because many brands out there (not just shein) makes mistakes. Yes these mistakes they have done are insensitive, but they did came upfront and apologize and brought about change. Hence, I'm also willing to see their changes along the way. Shein is very controversial, but i will continue to support them and you! I just want to say these things to present you some things for you too see a perspective from someone who is buddhist and family who comes from a 3rd world country. Im only speaking on behalf of these two controversial topics, not any other ones since I'm not familiar with the history and topic rlly. The swastika is used widely in the buddhism. Hitler stole the symbol from Buddhism and changed the meaning to such a hatred vision. Buddhists still use that symbol especially at funerals. Shein did the right thing by removing it to not offend the Jewish community, even though its hurtful to Buddhists and feels as if they are wrong for using their original symbol. The second controversial thing is that they pay their factory workers very low. What people dont understand is that their cost of living is very low as well. My family sends money to their extended family in Vietnam and an entire family is comfortable on living on $200-400 a month. So it might seem very little but their cost of living so dirt cheap so its not unethical. And for as child labor, every family i knew in vietnam made their children at the age of 8 work and its a normal thing there. This way at least its a steady income and these children are not on the streets.
